Mid Day Market commentary

Market was trading firmly on positive territory on the back of more buying in shares. Overall market breadth was positive as 1738 stocks advanced and 526 stocks declined on BSE.

At 12.42 pm, BSE sensex was at 13143.45 up by 287.37 points and Nifty was at 3837.10 up by 85.1 points. BSE Mid cap was up by 88.75 points to trade at 5408.70 and BSE small cap was up by 131.73 points to trade at 6588.10.

BSE capital goods index surged 202.71 points to trade at 9158.20 as BHEL 2.35% and L&T 1.96% trading in green.

BSE IT index soared 114.94 points to trade at 4936.46 as Infosys up 2.55% followed by Wipro 2.32%, TCS 2.24% and Satyam 1.54% trading in green.

BSE auto index grew by 68.29 points to trade at 4673.99 as Maruti Udyog advanced 2.82%, Hero Honda Motors 1.98%, Tata Motors 1.29% Bajaj Auto 0.32% trading higher.

BSE Banks index increased by 157.41 points to trade at 6529.10; SBI, ICICI bank, HDFC Bank were trading up by 3.14%, 2.2% and 1.99% respectively.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 102.98 points up at 6472.68 as ONGC 2.25%, RIL 1.52% trading in green.

BSE FMCG index was up by 43.80 points to trade at 1764.26 as ITC 3.41%, HLL 2.23% were trading higher.

BSE Metal index surged 242.95 points to trade at 8866.60 as Tata steel and Hindalco 4.48% and 2.69% were trading in green respectively.

BSE Health Care index grew 42.35 points to trade at 3689.37 as Cipla up 1.18%.
