Post Session Market Commentary

The Sensex ended the trading session in a negative note whereas Nifty gain some points. The BSE Sensex closed with a decline of 36.21 points at 13872.37 while Nifty closed up by 4.4 points at 4087.90. Of the 2549 stocks traded on BSE 1403 advanced, 1071 declined. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed higher by 62.19 points and 52.36 points to settle at 5795.72 and 6924.74.

BSE Metal index inclined by 109.23 points to close at 9835.72 as Tata Steel 2.22%, Nalco 1.01% closed in green whereas SAIL (1.47%) and Hindalco (1.25%) ended in red.

BSE bank index dropped by 203.99 points to close at 6882.89 as ICICI Bank (7.26%) and BOB (2.86%) ended in red whereas HDFCbank 0.95%, PNB 0.87% and SBI 0.59% ended in green.

BSE Auto Index closed higher by 54.16 points at 4998.71 as Hero Honda 2.30%, M&M 2.08%, Maruti 1.02% and Tata Motors 0.26% ended in green.

BSE Health Care Index closed at 3702.69 grew marginally by 6.64 points as GSK 0.41% and Ranbaxy 0.38% closed in green while Cipla (2.88%), Sun Pharma (0.86%), Dr.Reddy (0.31%) ended in red.

BSE oil & gas index closed at 7135.34 grew by 57.38 points as IPCL 1.29%, HPCL 0.50% and IOCL 1.02% ended higher while ONGC (1.87%) and BPCL (1.48%)ended in red.

BSE IT index closed at 5053.29 up by 99.35 points as TCS 2.53%, HCL Tech. 2.52%, Infosys 2.12%, Satyam 1.25% and Wipro 0.92% closed in green.BSE FMCG index closed at 1800.55 declined by 20.66 points as HLL (1.82%) and ITC (0.44%) closed in red while Dabur 0.37% ended in green.

BSE Capital goods index closed higher by 56.36 points at 9880.45 as L&T 0.84% and Siemens 0.57% closed higher while ABB (1.21%) and BHEL (0.05%) closed lower.

Mid Day Market Commentary

The markets are still trading weak on the back of heavy selling pressures seen in the selective scrips. Overall market breadth is positive as 1130 stocks advanced while 1077 stocks declined and 75 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.29 pm, BSE sensex was at 13740.77 down by 167.8 points and Nifty was at 4045.55 down by 37.95 points. BSE Mid cap inclined by 15.86 points to trade at 5749.39 and BSE small cap by 15.77 points to trade at 6957.25.

BSE IT index grew 87.41 points to trade at 5041.35 as Infosys (2.34%), HCL (1.93%), TCS (1.5%), Satyam (1.36%) and Wipro (1.01%) are trading higher.

BSE Metal index inclined 47.19 points to 9773.68 as Tata Steel (0.7%) and Hindalco (0.14%), are trading higher whereas NALCO (1.71%) and SAIL (1.51%) are trading lower.

BSE Banks index declined 299.69 points to trade at 6787.19 as ICICI Bank (7.62%), PNB (2.43%), SBI (1.88%) and HDFC Bank (1.46%) are trading lower.

BSE capital goods index declined 67.32 points to trade at 9756.77 as L&T (1.41%), ABB (1.01%) and BHEL (0.85%) are trading in red while Siemens is trading in green by (0.25%).

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 61.11 points down at 7016.85 as ONGC (2.00%), RPL (0.49%), BPCL (0.43%), IPCL (0.39%) and HPCL (0.39%) are trading in negative territory whereas GAIL (0.51%) is trading in positive territory.

BSE Health Care index slipped by 9.41 points to trade at 3686.64 as Dr. Reddy (1.35%), Cipla (1.22%), Sun Pharma (0.83%) and GSK (0.25%) are trading lower.

BSE FMCG index fell 7.45 points to trade at 1813.76 as HLL (2.61%), ITC (0.68%) and Dabur (0.32%) are trading in negative.

BSE auto index fell 6.47 points to trade at 4938.08 as Tata Motors (1.25%) and Baaj Auto (0.17%) are trading in green while Hero Honda, Maruti Udyog and M&M are in green by (1.51%), (0.2%) and (0.1%) respectively.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a flat opening but volatility is expected during the trading session as the Asian market is trading lower and US market ended mixed. On Friday, the Indian markets ended on a negative note as BSE Sensex closed at 13908.58 down by 320.30 points while Nifty down by 94.35 points to close at 4083.50. We expect the market to be choppy during the trading session.

Friday, the US markets closed mixed The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) closed higher by 15.44 points at 13120.94. The S&P 500 (SPX) index declined by 0.18 points to close at 1494.07 while the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) grew by 2.75 points to close at 2557.21.

Indian ADRs ended in red. In technology sector, Wipro, Infosys and Satyam computers declined by 0.78%, 0.62% and 0.12% respectively whereas Patni computers inclined by 2.14%. In banking sector, ICICI bank and HDFC bank down by 3.62% and 0.91% respectively. VSNL and MTNL plunged by 1.08% and 0.54%. In automobile sector, Tata Motors down by 3.35%.

The major stock markets in Asia are trading in red. Hang Seng declined by 16.16 points to trade at 20,510.34. Straits Times trading lower at 3360.52 plunged by 38.08 points. . Taiwan weighted plunged by 100.89 points to trade at 7848.53.

Today, Nifty has support at 3,950 and resistance at 4,140 and BSE Sensex has support at 13,600 and resistance at 14,200.

Post Session Market Commentary

The market ended the trading session on a negative note. The BSE Sensex ended with a decline of 320.30 points at 13,908.58 while Nifty closed at 4083.50 down by 94.35 points Of the 2,573 stocks traded on BSE 1704 declined while 804 advanced. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed lower by 54.50 points and 75.84 points to settle at 5733.53 and 6941.48.

BSE Metal index declined by 231.16 points to close at 9726.49 as Tata Steel (4.07%), Nalco (2.17%), SAIL (1.31%) and Hindalco (0.40%) ended in red.

BSE bank index dropped by 169.81 points to close at 7086.88 as SBI (4.12%), IDBI Bank (3.05%), ICICI Bank (3.15%), PNB (2.20%)and HDFC bank (1.36%) ended in red.

BSE Auto Index closed lower by 34.33 points at 4944.55 as Tata Motors (2.40%), Hero Honda (1.93%), Bajaj (1.40%), M&M (0.32%) and Maruti (0.23%) ended in red.

The markets are still trading weak on the back of heavy selling pressures seen in Metal, Oil & Gas and the Health Care sector. Overall market breadth is negative as 1480 stocks declined while 779 stocks advanced and 63 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

Indian market is likely to have a flat opening but volatility is expected during the trading session. The Asian market is trading lower while the US market ended in green territory with marginal gains. On Thursday, the Indian markets ended on a positive note as BSE Sensex closed at 14,228.88 up by 11.11 points while Nifty grew by 10.55 points to close at 4177.85. The market ended the trading session with a positive note. The action in several counters towards the end saw the index surge to an intra day high of 14,238.29. The frontline IT stocks are the top losers as the rupee increased to a nine year high and slipped below Rs.41 level. Overall market breadth is positive as 1284 stocks advanced while 963 stocks declined and 86 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

Post Session Market Commentary

The market ended the trading session with a strong note. The market edged higher today after the declaration of the monetary policy by the RBI. The action in several counters towards the end saw the index surge to an intra day high of 14,197.32. The BSE Sensex ended the trading session with a growth of 208.39 points at 14,136.72 while Nifty closed up by 56.7 points at 4,141.80 .Of the 2,628 stocks traded on BSE 1274 advanced, 1279 declined and 75 stocks were unchanged. The market is trading higher on the back of news that the RBI in its monetary policy announced today has kept all policy rates like CRR, repo, reverse repo rate and bank rates unchanged. This has led to heavy buying in the banking stocks. Overall market breadth is positive as 1247 stocks advanced while 1016 stocks declined and 81 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.35 pm, BSE sensex was at 14160.82 up by 232.49 points and Nifty was at 4151.05 up by 65.95 points. BSE Mid cap also inclined by 40.64 points to trade at 5743.08 and BSE small cap by 38.06 points to trade at 7008.98.

BSE Banks index inclined 253.28 points to trade at 7135.12; as PNB (6.4%), SBI (5.68%), HDFC bank (3.57%), ICICI bank (3.53%) are trading higher.

BSE Metal index increased 103.05 points to 9999.89 as Tata Steel (1.8%), Hindalco (0.27%), and NALCO (0.25%) are trading higher while SAIL was trading lower by 0.04%.

BSE auto index rose 92.36 points to trade at 4895.27 as Tata motors grew by 3.88% followed by Maruti Udyog (2.76%), Bajaj auto (2.26%) and M&M (2.08%).

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 51.62 points up at 7154.51 as IPCL (1.38%), RPL (1.35%), ONGC (0.93%) are trading in green while GAIL (1.13%), BPCL (0.51%) and HPCL (0.25%) are trading in negative territory.

BSE capital goods index inclined 28.48 points to trade at 9799.30 as Siemens (2.93%), L&T (0.91%) and ABB (0.79%) are trading in green while BHEL (219%) is trading in red.

BSE IT index grew 10.75 points to trade at 5073.61 as HCL (1.26%), TCS (0.86%), Satyam (0.65%) and Wipro (0.15%) are trading in green while Infosys (0.12%) is trading in red.

BSE Health Care index inclined by 15.80 points to trade at 3755.69 as Cipla (2.11%), Ranbaxy (0.47%), Sun Pharma (0.4%) and Dr.Reddy (0.13%) are trading in green.

BSE FMCG index grew 5.96 points to trade at 1788.34 as HLL, Dabur and ITC grew by 0.59%, 0.57% and 0.13% respectively.

Pre Open market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a flat opening with negative bias, as RBI is going to declare the monetary policy today as well as due to closing of US market in red territory and Asian market is trading lower. On Monday, the Indian markets ended in a positive note with marginal gains as BSE Sensex closed at 13,928.33 up by 30.92 points while Nifty up by 1.55 points to close at 4,085.10. We expect the market to remain choppy during the trading session.

Monday, the US markets closed in red. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) closed in red by 42.58 points down at 12,919.40. The S&P 500 (SPX) index declined by 3.42 points to close at 1480.93 while the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) fell by 2.72 points to close at 2523.67.

Indian ADRs ended mixed. In technology sector, Patni computers surged by 3.81% where as Satyam, Wipro and Infosys declined by 1.32%, 1.19% and 1.18% respectively. In banking sector, ICICI Bank and HDFC bank gain grounds by 1.54% and 0.30% respectively. VSNL and MTNL grew by 1.79% and 0.26% respectively. In automobile sector, Tata Motors jumped by 2.62%.

The major stock markets in Asia are trading in red. The Nikkei 225 is trading at 17,315.19 tumbled by 140.18 points, Hang Seng fell by 142.69 points to trade at 20,413.88. Straits Times trading lower at 3,369.19 lost 19.29 points.

Post Session Market Commentary

Though the market opened firm it was highly volatile through out the trading session and closed flat with marginal gains. The BSE Sensex ended the trading session with a growth of 30.92 points at 13,928.33 while Nifty closed up by 1.55 points to close at 4,085.10 .Of the 2,630 stocks traded on BSE 1164 advanced, 1383 declined and 83 stocks ended unchanged.

The BSE Mid cap closed up by 3.36 points to settle at 5,702.44 while BSE Small cap declined 3.45 points to close at 6,970.92.

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening with positive bias as Indian IT bourses results are up to the expectations as well as US market ended in green territory and Asian market is trading higher. On Friday the Indian markets ended in a positive inspiring note as BSE Sensex closed at 13897.41 up by 277.71 points while Nifty gained grounds by 85.9 points to close at 4083.55. We expect the market to remain in positive due to strong positive global cues.

Post Session Market Commentary

The market after beginning the trading session on a strong note, ended up in green zone backed by sustained buying across all the sectors. The BSE Sensex ended the trading session with a growth of 277.71 points at 13,897.41 while Nifty ended up by 85.9 points to close at 4,083.55 .Of the 2,665 stocks traded on BSE 1,508 advanced, 1,072 declined and 85 stocks ended unchanged.

Post Session Market Commentary

After a firm opening, the market gained momentum to end the trading session in positive territory. The action in several indices towards the close saw the BSE sensex surge to an intra day high of 13,762.92.The BSE sensex ended the session with gains of 65.15 points at 13,672.19 while the Nifty added 26.65 points to close at 4011.60. Post Session Market Commentary

The markets have lost grip and slipped to end the trading session in a negative territory on the back of profit booking by the investors. Finally, BSE Sensex closed at 13,607.04 with a decline of 88.54 points. The NSE Nifty closed at 3984.95 down by 28.4 points. Overall, the market breadth was week as 1463 stocks ended up in red zone whereas 1085 stocks were closed in green in BSE.

Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the day on red note after trading in green. The small cap and the mid cap index outperformed the broader markets. The turnover volumes were not very convincing but the advances outpaced the decliners.

Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex elegantly improved from the day''s low on the back of the buying seen in FMCG sector and a sturdy buying emerged at the lower levels. The markets ended the day on green note after trading in red. The small cap and the mid cap index outperformed the broader markets. The turnover volumes were not very persuasive but the advances outpaced the decliners.

Finally, BSE Sensex closed at 13,189.54 with an incline of 11.80 points. The NSE Nifty advanced by 4.65 points to close at 3848.15. Overall, the market breadth was strong as 1576 stocks closed in green whereas 1004 ended up in red zone while 69 stocks remained unchanged in BSE.

BSE oil & gas index closed at 6287.21 up by 1.86% as ONGC grew up by (1.7%), RIL advanced by (1.9%).

BSE Metal index closed 1.08% up at 8219.63 as Tata Steel up by (1.16%) followed by Hindalco inclined by (1.02%).

BSE IT index closed 2.02% up at 4766.97 as Wipro up by (3.39%), Satyam advanced by (3.02%), Infosys surged by (2.33%), TCS up by (1.28%).

BSE bank index grew by 0.49% at 6182.44: HDFC bank and ICICI Bank ended in green by 1.26% and 0.34% respectively.

BSE Auto Index inclined by 0.93% at 4612.32 as Hero Honda motors up 3.39% followed by Tata motors up 1.16%.

BSE Health Care Index closed higher at 3574.65 with an incline of 0.59% as Ranbaxy up by (0.64%), Dr Reddy''s grew by (1.35%).

Mid Day Market Commentary

Market was trading in positive territory as buying resumed after a sharp decline on Monday on the backdrop of hike in the CRR and the Repo rates by the RBI. Overall market breadth was strong as 1073 stocks advanced and 956 stocks declined on BSE.

At 12.33 PM, BSE Sensex was at 12587.97 up by 132.60 points and Nifty was at 3677.35 up by 45.65 points. BSE Mid cap also inclined by 8.48 points to trade at 5217.77 and BSE small cap was up by 18.26 points to trade at 6312.32.

BSE capital goods index inclined 66.19 points to trade at 8687.55 as BHEL (2.94%) and L&T (0.53%) trading higher.

BSE IT index grew 86.28 points to trade at 4758.84 as Wipro (2.45%), Infosys (2.02%), Satyam (1.97%) and TCS (1.18%) trading in green.

BSE auto index inclined 26.80 points to trade at 4596.71 as Hero Honda Motors (1.98%), Tata Motors (1.58%) and Maruti Udyog (0.48%) were trading in green.

BSE Banks index inclined 39.82 points to trade at 6192.41; HDFC Bank (1.09%) and ICICI Bank (0.26%) were trading in green while SBI (0.4%) was trading in red.

BSE FMCG index grew24.39 points to trade at 1715.49 as HLL (1.97%) and ITC (1.57%) were trading higher.

BSE Metal index increased 56.58 points to trade at 8188.25 as Tata Steel was up by (1.49%) while Hindalco Industries was down by (0.24%).

BSE Health Care index inclined by 4.26 points to trade at 3557.88 as Ranbaxy Lab. (0.5%) followed by Dr. Reddy''s (0.27%) were trading higher and where as Cipla (1.06%) trading in lower.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a cautious opening, as the market sentiment is quite bearish. On Monday, the Indian markets closed in deep red, as BSE Sensex closed at 12,455.37 down by 616.73 points and Nifty dropped 187.95 points to close at 3,633.60.The outlook for the market is cautious.

Monday, US markets closed in green. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) surge 27.95 points to close at 12,382.30. The S&P 500 (SPX) index grew 3.69 points to close at 1,424.55, and the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) up marginally by 0.62 points to close at 2,422.26.

Indian ADRs ended on a mixed note. In technology sector, Infosys dropped by 0.88%, while Satyam and Wipro closed lower by 2.42% and 3.05% respectively. In banking sector, ICICI Bank dropped 0.60%, while HDFC Bank grew by 0.39%. MTNL fell by 3.59% whereas VSNL surged by 0.11%.

The major stock market in Asia is mostly trading higher. The Nikkei 225 is trading at 17,162.62 up by 134.21 points, while Hang Seng advanced by 137.06 points to trade at 19,946.76. Straits Times grew by 24.36 points to trade at 3,270.67.

Today, Nifty has support at 3,550 and resistance at 3,720 and BSE Sensex has support at 12,250 and resistance at 12,700.

Post session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex opened in the red, well below the 13,000 mark in opening trade, following a surprise hike in the short-term repo rate and the cash reserve ratio (CRR) by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) after trading hours on Friday (30 March). Since then market was trading in red during the day. Finally, BSE Sensex closed at 12455.37 with a decline of 616.73 points. The NSE Nifty also declined by 187.95 points to close at 3633.60. Overall, the market breadth was weak as 702 stocks were advanced whereas 1771 were declined in BSE while 73 remain unchanged.

BSE Mid cap and BSE Small cap indices followed the trend of benchmark index, as BSE mid cap declined by 174.83 points at 5209.29 and the BSE small cap decreased 176.45 points at 6294.06

.BSE FMCG index closed at 1691.10 down by 48points as HLL declined by (4.51%) followed by ITC decreased (2.59%).

BSE Capital goods index declined by 453.36 points at 8621.36 as L&T down by (6.43%), followed by BHEL declined by (4.68%).

BSE oil & gas index closed at 6172.25 down by 246.93 points on the back of ONGC declined by (4.91%) and RIL slipped down by (4.41%).

BSE Metal index closed 356.77 points down at 8131.67 as Tata Steel declined by (6.04%) and Hindalco Industries decreased by (2.15%).

BSE IT index closed 226.83 points down at 4672.56 on the back of decline in Wipro (7.58%), Satyam (4.9%), Infosys (4.75%) and TCS (3.51%).

BSE bank index dropped by 389.42 points at 6152.59 on account of SBI (5.76%), ICICI Bank (5.74%) and HDFC bank (5.2%) ended in red.

BSE Auto Index fell 299.22 Points at 4569.91 as Tata Motors (9.08%), Maruti Udyog (8.26%), Hero Honda motors (7.39%) and Bajaj Auto (6.57%) ended lower.

BSE Health Care Index closed lower at 3553.62 with a decline of 95.81 points as Ranbaxy (4.23%), Cipla (3.69%) and Dr Reddy''s (2.06%) ended in red.

Mid Day Market Commentary

Market was trading in negative territory on the backdrop of hike in the CRR and the Repo rates by the RBI and there was no sign of recovery. Overall market breadth was negative as 628 stocks advanced and 1455 stocks declined on BSE.

At 12.28 pm, BSE Sensex was at 12646.01 down by 426.09 points and Nifty was at 3689.90 down by 131.65 points. BSE Mid cap was also down by 117.40 points to trade at 5266.32 and BSE small cap was declined by 114.98 points to trade at 6355.53.

BSE capital goods index declined 325.87 points to trade at 8748.85 as L&T (4.35%) and BHEL (3.39%) trading lower.

BSE IT index dropped 115.58 points to trade at 4783.81 as Wipro (3.51%), Satyam (3.32%), Infosys (2.15%) and TCS (1.71%) trading in red.

BSE auto index fell 242.25 points to trade at 4626.88 as Tata Motors (6.66%), Bajaj Auto (6.04%), Maruti Udyog (5.09%), and Hero Honda (4.55%) were trading lower.

BSE Banks index declined 323.87 points to trade at 6218.14; SBI Bank (5.76%), ICICI Bank (5.02%) and HDFC Bank (3.64%) were trading in red.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 178.37 points down at 6240.81 as ONGC (4.81%) followed by RIL (2.44%) were trading down.

BSE FMCG index dropped 32.71 points to trade at 1706.39 as HLL (3.78%) and ITC (1.26%) were trading lower.

BSE Metal index decreased 129.30 points to trade at 8359.14 as Tata Steel (1.67%) and Hindalco (1.38%) were trading in red.

BSE Health Care index declined by 48.29 points to trade at 3601.14 as Cipla (2.21%), Dr. Reddy''s (1.43%) were trading lower where as Ranbaxy (1.67%) trading in green.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a negative opening on the backdrop of the announcement made by the RBI to further tightening the money circulation in the economy. On Friday, the Indian markets closed in green, as BSE Sensex closed at 13,072.10 up by 92.44 points and Nifty gained 23.45 points to close at 3,821.55.The outlook for the market is negative. Friday, US markets closed flat. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) surge 5.60 points to close at 12,354.35. The S&P 500 (SPX) index dropped 1.67 points to close at 1,420.86, and the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) grew by 3.76 points to close at 2,421.64.

Indian ADRs ended on a mixed note. In technology sector, Infosys grew by 0.18%, while Satyam and Wipro closed lower by 0.87% and 1.75%% respectively. In banking sector, ICICI Bank and HDFC bank dropped 6.94% and 4.16% respectively. MTNL and VSNL also ended in positive territory as it surged by 0.30% and 0.54% respectively.

The major stock market in Asia is mostly trading higher. The Nikkei 225 is trading at 17,377.17 up by 89.52 points, while Hang Seng advanced by 139.93 points to trade at 19,940.86. Straits Times grew by 24.61 points to trade at 3,255.85.

Today, Nifty has support at 3,725 and resistance at 3,900 and BSE Sensex has support at 12,750 and resistance at 13,200.
