Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive note as it grew by 145.94 points to close at 14,650.51 while Nifty increased by 36.3 points to close at 4,318.30. Of the 2,680 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,482 stocks advanced while 1,108 stocks declined. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed up by 69.03 points and 68.30 points at 6,527.03 and 7,730.40 respectively.

BSE Auto Index grew by 25.39 points to close at 4,739.57 as M&M (2.24%), Bajaj Auto (1.66%), Hero Honda (1.20%) and Tata Motors (0.72%) closed in green while Maruti Udyog (0.91%) closed in red.

BSE Capital goods index increased by 227.81 points to close at 12,299.36 as ABB (5.95%), BHEL (3.32%), L&T (1.96%), Suzlon energy (1.07%) and Siemens (0.17%0 closed in green.

BSE bankex index increased by 223.22 points to close at 8,009.94 as HDFC bank (4.75%), BOB (4.08%0, SBI (3.74%), BOI (3.35%), Union bank (2.96%) and ICICI bank (1.32%) closed higher.

BSE Metal index closed at 10,605 decreased by 29.50 points as Hindalco (5.21%) and SAIL (0.27%) closed in green while Sterlite industries (1.54%), and Tata Steel (0.70%) closed in green.

BSE IT index grew by 29.11 points to close at 4,870.73 as HCL tech (3.12%), TCS (1.10%) Wipro (0.65%) and Infosys (0.17%) closed higher.

BSE Health Care Index closed up by 39.83 points at 3,805.70 as Cipla (2.66%), Ranbaxy labs (2.01%), Sun pharma (0.64%) and Dr Reddy (0.18%) closed higher.

BSE FMCG index closed marginally up by 6.63 points at 1,829.33 as Tata tea (1.88%) closed in green while Dabur (1.11%) and ITC (0.26%) and HLL (0.26%) closed in red.

BSE oil & gas index increased by 27.51 points to close at 7,626.66 as BPCL (0.86%) and IPCL (0.31%) closed higher while GAIL (2.31%), IOCL (0.72%), ONGC (0.46%) and Reliance petroleum (0.18%) closed lower.

Mid Day market Commentary

The market continued to trade higher since morning today on account of buying seen in the selective scrips. The overall market breadth is positive as 1499 stocks are advancing while 921 stocks are declining on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,640.27 up by 135.70 points while Nifty was at 4,310.65 up by 28.65 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 63.98 points at 6,521.98 and small cap advanced by 71.72 points to 7,733.82.

BSE Capital goods index increased 136.96 points to 12,208.51 as ABB (4.05%), L&T (0.97%), Siemens (0.79%) and BHEL (0.40%) are trading in green.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 18.49 points up at 7,617.64 as ONGC (0.11%) is trading in green whereas GAIL (3.12%) and BPCL (0.59% are trading in red.

BSE Metal index improved 10.17 points to trade at 10,644.67 as Tata Steel (0.67%) is trading in positive while Hindalco (2.37%) and NALCO (0.38%) are trading in negative.

BSE FMCG index fell 1.66 points to trade at 1,821.04 as ITC (0.65%), Dabur (0.63%) ) are trading in negative.

Pre open market commentary

Indian market is likely to have positive opening as the Asian market is trading higher. On Thursday, the Indian markets closed in positive territory, as BSE Sensex closed higher by 73.51 points at 14,504.57 while Nifty grew by 18.05 points to close at 4,282. We expect the market to remain range bound during the trading session.

Thursday, the US markets closed in mixed. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) decreased by 5.45 points to close at 13,422.28. The S&P 500 (SPX) index slipped by 0.63 points to close at 1,505.71 and NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) closed up by 3.02 points at 2,608.37 points.

Indian ADRs closed in mixed. In technology sector, Patni computers grew by (1.61%) along with Infosys, Satyam and Wipro by (1.16%), (1.25%) and (0.57%) respectively. HDFC bank and ICICI bank grew by (1.19%) and (0.45%) respectively. VSNL declined by (0.77%).

The major stock markets in Asia are trading higher. The Nikkei 225 grew by 156.29 points to trade at 18,088.56 Hang Seng grew by 37.28 points to trade at 21,975.50. Strait Times index was up by 5.31 points to trade at 3,543.54. Taiwan weighted trading lower by 31.38 points at 8,861.45.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,240 and resistance at 4,345 and BSE Sensex has support at 14,405 and resistance at 14,650.

Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive note as it increased by 73.51 points to close at 14,504.57 while Nifty grew by 18.05 points to close at 4,282. Of the 2,654 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,440 stocks advanced while 1,140 stocks declined. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed up by 33.19 points and 48.26 points at 6,458 and 7,662.10 respectively.

BSE Auto Index fell 32.06 points to close at 4,714.18 as M&M (1.79%), Bajaj Auto (1.75%), Tata Motors (1.03%) and Maruti Udyog (0.25%) closed in red.

BSE Capital goods index grew by 83.50 points to close at 12,071.55 as BHEL (1.70%), L&T (0.36%) and Siemens (0.16%) closed in green while ABB (78.33%)and Suzlon energy (3.59%) closed in red.

BSE bankex index increased by 34.20 points to close at 7,786.72 as BOI (2.13%), SBI (1.60%), ICICI bank (0.48%), Union bank (0.27%), HDFC bank (0.14%) and BOB (0.13%) closed higher.

BSE Metal index closed at 10,634.50 decreased by 51.09 points as Sterlite industries (0.86%), Hindalco (0.62%) and Tata Steel (0.54%) closed in red while SAIL (0.73%) and Jindal Saw (0.61%) closed in green.

BSE IT index decreased marginally by 1.85 points to close at 4,841.62 as HCL tech (1.08%), Wipro (1.04%) and TCS (0.34%) closed higher while Infosys (0.53%) closed lower.

Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is trading in the positive territory. The buying in the selective scrips continued. The Cement scrips are showing most of the buying momentum after the Finance Chidambaram announced yesterday that there would be no cut down in the cement prices. The overall market breadth is positive as 1548 stocks are advancing while 844 stocks are declining and 71 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,483.42 up by 52.36 points while Nifty was at 4,271.75 up by 7.80 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 57.31 points at 6,482.12 and small cap advanced by 79.77 points to 7,693.61.

Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a negative note as it declined by 70.02 points to close at 14,431.06 while Nifty soared down by 21.75 points to close at 4,263.95. Of the 2,647 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,338 stocks declined while 1,245 stocks advanced. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed marginally higher by 6.91 points and 9.12 points at 6,424.81 and 7,613.84 respectively.

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive note as it closed marginally up by 13.36 points at 14,501.08 while Nifty grew up by 26.3 points to close at 4,285.70. BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 38.89 points down at 7,673.19 as BPCL (1.14%), GAIL (0.96%), ONGC (0.81%) and IPCL (0.55%) are trading in red.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a flat opening, as the Asian market is trading mixed and US market closed in red zone. On Tuesday, the Indian markets closed in green, as BSE Sensex closed higher by 39.24 points at 14,535.01 while Nifty grew by 17.6 points to close at 4,281.20. We expect the market to remain cautious during the day.

Tuesday, the US markets closed in red. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) closed lower by 80.86 points at 13,595.46. The S&P 500 (SPX) index declined by 8.23 points to trade at 1,530.95 while the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) closed in negative at 2,611.23 down by 7.06 points.

Indian ADRs ended mixed. In technology sector, Infosys and Wipro gained (0.57%) and (0.50%) respectively while Satyam declined by (1.39%). In banking sector, HDFC bank grew by (0.61%) whereas ICICI bank fell by (1.05%). VSNL grew by (0.99%). In automobile sector, Tata Motors closed lower by (1.29%). In health care sector, Dr Reddy''s lab slipped by (0.25%).

The major stock markets in Asia are trading mixed. The Nikkei 225 is trading lower by 16.50 points at 18,037.31. Hang Seng trading higher by 33.63 points to close at 20,875.78. Straits Times slipped by 7.04 points to trade at 3,565.86. Taiex trading up by 62.63 points at 8,366.62.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,215 and resistance at 4,320 and BSE Sensex has support at 14,340 and resistance at 14,625.

Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive note as it grew by 39.24 points to close at 14,535.01 while Nifty closed at 4,281.20 up by 17.6 points. Of the 2,677 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,325 stocks advanced while 1,279 stocks declined. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed higher by 27.44 points and 19.90 points at 6,261.02 and 7,486.67 respectively.

BSE Capital goods index closed higher by 51.40 points at 11,154.27 as BHEL (0.78%) closed in positive while L&T (1.26%), ABB (0.73%) and Siemens (0.19%) closed in negative.

BSE bank index closed higher by 82.41 points at 7,823.97 as IDBI bank (5.58%), SBI (2.10%), PNB (0.87%) and ICICI bank (0.63%) closed in green while HDFC bank (0.46%) closed in red.

BSE Metal index closed at 10,648.83 advanced by 14.66 points as Tata Steel (0.68%) and SAIL (0.14%) closed higher while Hindalco (0.41%) closed lower.

Mid Day Market Commentary

The market has now moved up a bit and is trading higher with marginal gains as some buying is seen in the selective scrips. The overall market breadth is negative as 1137 stocks are advancing while 1181 stocks are declining and 92 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,504.37 up by 8.60 points and Nifty was at 4,275.40 up by 8.35 points. The BSE mid cap is lower by 0.31 points at 6,233.27 while small cap advanced by 20.84 points to 7,487.61.

Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a negative note as it fell by 74.98 points to close at 14,495.77 while Nifty closed at 4,267.05 down by 30 points. Of the 2,654 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,385 stocks declined while 1,184 stocks advanced. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed lower by 30.70 points and 7.10 points at 6,233.58 and 7,466.77 respectively.

BSE Capital goods index closed lower by 138.89 points at 11,102.87 as BHEL (3.01%) and L&T (1.65%) closed in negative while Siemens (1.20%) and ABB (0.52%) closed in positive.
