End Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive note as it closed higher by 290.08 points at 15,550.99 Nifty increased by 88.8 points to close at 4528.85. Of the 2,717 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,706 stocks advanced while 937 stocks declined. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed higher by 99.09 points and 128.88 points at 6,718.08 and 8,070.63 respectively.

BSE Auto Index increased by 8.36 points to close at 4,933.83 as Bajaj Auto (2.95%) closed in green while Mahindra and Mahindra (3.11%), Hero Honda (1.86%), Tata Motors (1.12%) and Maruti Udyog (0.50%) closed in red.

BSE Capital goods index grew by 622.81 points to close at 13,321.78 as ABB (6.96%), L&T (6.58%), BHEL (5.33%) and Siemens (1.56%) closed higher.

BSE bankex index closed higher by 93.54 points at 8,148.68 as HDFC bank (3.35%), SBI (2.88%), PNB (1.94%), Allahabad bank (0.90%) and ICICI bank (0.38%) closed higher.

BSE Metal index advanced by 249.65 points to close at 11,630.92 as Sterlite industries (6.54%), Hind Zinc (5.94%), SAIL (2.56%), Hindalco industries (2.38%), Tata steel (1.25%) and Nalco (0.98%) closed in green.

BSE IT index increased by 16.73 points to close at 4,862.52 as HCL tech (2.16%), TCS (1.82%), Satyam (0.90%) and Wipro (0.39%) closed in positive while Infosys (0.55%) closed in negative.

BSE Health Care Index grew by 35.79 points to close at 3,718.26 as Ranbaxy labs (3.50%), Glennmark (1%), Cipla (0.98%) and Sun pharma (0.35%) closed higher while Dr Reddy lab (0.38%) closed lower.

BSE FMCG index advanced by 27.90 points to close at 1,973.16 as Dabur (2.15%) and ITC (2.03%) closed higher while HUL (1.15%) closed lower.

BSE oil & gas index closed higher by 149.75 points at 8,130.50 as BPCL (5.51%), Reliance industries (2.41%) and IPCL (2.12%) closed in green while GAIL (1.39%) and HPCL (0.41%) closed in red.

Mid Market Commentary

The market has lost some gaining momentum and shed few points as selling emerged in the selective scrips led by Banking, Auto and IT stocks. The overall market breadth is positive as 1433 stocks are advancing while 979 stocks are declining and 71 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,297.14 up by 36.23 points while Nifty was at 4,452.35 up by 12.3 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 19.68 points at 6,638.67 and small cap advanced by 50.74 points to 7,992.49.

BSE Capital goods index increased 153.69 points to 12,852.66 as ABB (2.06%), L&T (1.92%) and BHEL (1.82%) are trading in positive whereas Siemens (1.51%) is trading in negative.

BSE Metal index increased 110.25 points to trade at 11,491.52 as SAIL (1.37%), Hindalco Industries (1.20%), NALCO (1.17%) and Tata Steel (0.62%) are trading in green.

BSE FMCG index improved 31.12 points to trade at 1,976.38 as ITC (2.66%) and Dabur (0.39%) are trading in green while HUL (1.41%) is trading in red.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 15.80 points higher at 7,996.55 as BPCL (1.97%), RPL (0.91%), IPCL (0.27%) and ONGC (0.11%) are trading in positive.

BSE Health Care index grew 15.67 points to trade at 3,698.14 as Ranbaxy (1.86%) is trading higher while Sun Pharma (1.29%), GSK (1.04%) and Dr. Reddy (0.16%) are trading lower.

BSE Banks index is trading down by 72.53 points to trade at 7,982.61 as SBI (1.27%), PNB (0.79%), ICICI Bank (0.76%) and HDFC Bank (0.60%) are trading in negative.

BSE IT index decreased 15.91 points to trade at 4,829.88 as Infosys (1.21%), Wipro (1.01%) and TCS (0.18%) are trading in red while HCL Tech. (0.97%) and Satyam (0.84%) are trading in green.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening due to positive global cues. On Monday, the Indian markets ended mixed as BSE Sensex closed little higher by 26.34 points at 15,260.91 while Nifty decreased by 5.15 points to close at 4440.05. We expect the market to remain optimism during the trading session.

Monday, the US markets closed in green. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) increased by 92.84 points to close at 13,358.31. The S&P 500 (SPX) index closed higher by 14.96 points at 1,473.91 while the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) grew by 21.04 points to close at 2,583.28.

The major stock markets in Asia are trading higher. Japan''s Nikkei trading higher by 38.20 points at 17,251.10. Hang Seng trading up by 230 points at 22,970.70. Taiwan weighted grew by 190.53 points to trade at 9,263.10. Straits Times advanced by 29.51 points to trade at 3,555.80.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,405 and resistance at 4,500 and BSE Sensex has support at 15,180 and resistance at 15,490.

BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive note as it closed marginally higher by 26.34 points at 15,260.91 while Nifty decreased by 5.15 points to close at 4440.05. The market has gained further momentum to trade in the positive territory as the selective buying of scrips continued in the market. The overall market breadth is positive as 1430 stocks are advancing while 944 stocks are declining and 59 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

Indian market is likely to have a negative opening as the US market closed in red while the Asian market is trading mixed. The BSE Sensex ended the session on a negative note as it closed lower by 541.74 points at 15,234.57 while Nifty decreased by 174.6 points to close at 4445.20. The BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive note as it grew marginally by 11.35 points to close at 15,301.17 while Nifty increased by 2.8 points to close at 4499.55. Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive inspiring note as it increased by 181.42 points to close at 15,092.04 while Nifty grew by 59 points to close at 4,446.15. Of the 2,713 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,790 stocks advanced while 861 stocks declined. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed higher by 78.29 points and 140.70 points at 6,782.69 and 8,215.56 respectively.

BSE Auto Index increased by 86.27 points to close at 5,006.55 as Bajaj Auto (3.11%), M&M (2.86%), Maruti Udyog (2.70%), Tata Motors (1.02%) and Hero Honda (0.52%) closed in green.

BSE Capital goods index surged by 184.82 points to close at 12,940.79 as BHEL (4.12%), Siemens (3.64%), ABB (2.80%) and BEML (0.82%) closed higher.

BSE bankex index increased by 126.73 points to close at 8,215.51 as HDFC bank (4.42%), PNB (2.03%), BOB (1.84%), ICICI bank (1.34%), SBI (0.98%) and UTI bank (0.47%), closed in green.

BSE Metal index surged by 370.40 points to close at 11,475.26 as Hindalco (7.03%), Sterlite industries (5.27%), SAIL (4.79%), Jindal steel (3.53%), Tata Steel (2.56%) and Nalco (2.51%) closed in positive.

BSE IT index increased marginally by 1.29 points to close at 4,870.06 as TCS (1.25%) and Wipro (0.20%) closed higher while HCL tech (0.97%), Infosys (0.41%) and Satyam (0.25%) closed in red.

BSE Health Care Index grew by 37.50 points to close at 3,868.29 Glaxosmithkline (1.73%), Sun pharma (1.05%), Cipla (0.87%) and Ranbaxy (0.42%) closed higher.

BSE FMCG index increased by 13.37 points to close at 1,857.37 as Tata tea (1.76%), HUL (1.66%), Dabur (0.63%) and ITC (0.16%) closed in green.

BSE oil & gas index grew by 60.65 points to close at 7,682.19 as Reliance Petroleum (2.79%), GAIL (1.29%) and HPCL (1.07%) closed in green while BPCL (1.04%), ONGC (0.95%) and IPCL (0.13%) closed in red.

Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is now trading higher as the strong buying continued in the metal, capital goods and bank index. The overall market breadth is positive as 1817 stocks are advancing while 651 stocks are declining and 62 stocks remains unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,060.22 up by 149.60 points while Nifty was at 4,429.80 up by 42.65 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 75.73 points at 6,780.13 and small cap advanced by 128.37 points to 8,203.23.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening due to positive global cues. On Wednesday, the Indian markets ended on a negative note as BSE Sensex closed lower by 99.26 points at 14,910.62 while Nifty slipped by 18.9 points to close at 4,387.15. We expect the market to remain optimism during the trading session.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,348 and resistance at 4,450 and BSE Sensex has support at 14,830 and resistance at 15,040.

Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a negative note as it decreased by 99.26 points to close at 14,910.62 while Nifty slipped by 18.9 points to close at 4,387.15. BSE Health Care index grew 14.31 points to trade at 3,852.85 as Ranbaxy (0.83%), Cipla (0.46%), Dr. Reddy (0.45%) and Sun Pharma (0.40%) are trading in positive.

BSE FMCG index grew 9.91 points to trade at 1,864.71 as Dabur (0.98%), ITC (0.64%) and HLL (0.50%) are trading in positive.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 6.89 points up at 7,623.88 as IPCL (0.29%) and BPCL (0.28%) are trading in green whereas ONGC (0.45%), HPCL (0.37%) and GAIL (0.32%) are trading in red.

BSE Banks index is trading down by 78.41 points to trade at 8,109.60 as ICICI Bank (2.39%), PNB (0.57%) and SBI (0.52%) are trading in positive.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a flat opening as Asian market is trading weak and closing of US market in mixed. On Thursday, the Indian markets ended on a negative note as BSE Sensex closed at 14,861.89 down by 18.35 points while Nifty slipped by 5.35 points to close at 4,353.95. We expect the market to remain range bound during the trading session.

Thursday, the US markets closed in mixed. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) closed lower by 11.46 points at 13,565.84. The S&P 500 (SPX) index closed flat at 1,525.40 while the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) grew marginally by 11.70 points to close at 2,656.65.

Indian ADRs ended in mixed. In technology sector, Patni computers declined by (2.73%) along with Infosys, Wipro and Satyam by (1.82%), (1.54%) and (0.40%) respectively. In banking sector, ICICI Bank and HDFC bank grew by (1.75%) and (0.38%) respectively. MTNL increased by (2.15%) while VSNL decreased by (1.59%). In automobile sector, Tata Motors jumped by (1.47%).

The major stock markets in Asia are trading weak. The Nikkei 225 is trading at 18,107.50 decreased by 113.98 points, Hang Seng fell by 131.19 points to trade at 22,121.80. Straits Times trading lower by 5.51 points at 3,546.17.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,305 and resistance at 4,395 and BSE Sensex has support at 14,750 and resistance at 14,970.

Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a negative note as it decreased by 18.35 points to close at 14,861.89 while Nifty dropped by 5.35 points to close at 4,353.95. Of the 2,637 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,627 stocks declined while 949 stocks advanced. The BSE Mid cap closed lower by 39.80 points at 6,605.85 while Small cap dropped by 59.64 points to close at 7,796.02.

BSE Auto Index grew by 44.29 points to close at 4,881.94 as M&M (3.01%), Maruti Udyog (1.77%), Tata Motors (1.41%) and Hero Honda (0.55%) closed higher.

BSE Capital goods index increased by 46.31 points to close at 12,618.94 as L&T (1.73%) and BHEL (0.74%) closed in positive while ABB (0.99%) and Siemens (0.10%) closed in negative.

BSE bankex index grew by 29.03 points to close at 8,188.01 as ICICI bank (2.03%) and UTI bank (1.97%) closed higher while HDFC bank (1.65%), BOI (1.48%), SBI (1.06%) and PNB (0.82%) closed lower.

BSE Metal index closed at 10,816.64 up by 31.59 points as Tata Steel (1.74%), Nalco (1.11%) and SAIL (0.61%) closed in green while Hindalco (1.15%) and Sterlite industries (0.10%) closed in red.

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive note as it grew by 73.73 points to close at 14,880.24 while Nifty increased by 1.75 points to close at 4,359.30. Of the 2,676 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,437 stocks declined while 1,187 stocks advanced. The BSE Mid cap closed lower by 3.35 points at 6,645.65 while Small cap closed higher by 9.53 points at 7,855.66.
