Post Session Market

The market rallied during the session due to smooth rollover of September contract yesterday. The market closed the session on a strong note as BSE Sensex surged by 140.54 points to close at 17,291.10 while Nifty grew by 20.8 points to close at 5,021.35. The Sensex touched the psychological mark of 17,361.47 during the trading session. Overall, the market breadth was little weak as 1396 stocks were closed in red and 1379 stocks were ended in green while 63 stocks remained unchanged in BSE. Both the BSE mid cap and small cap closed higher by 90.47 points and 53.38 points at 7,422.43 and 9,099.93 respectively.

BSE Metal index surged by 442.79 points to close at 13,945.39 due to the rise in the global commodity prices as well as due to corrections in the Chinese steel prices. Pushing this index up are Sesa Goa ltd 7.13%, Tata steel 7.02%, Hindalco 4.81%, Jindal stainless 3.89% and JSW Steel 3.38% .

BSE bankex index advanced by 239.74 points at 9,469.26 on the expectations that RBI will cut the interest rate in the coming meeting. Leading this pack are Bank of India 6.44%, Yes bank 5.83%, Allahabad bank 4.57%, Union bank 4.05% and SBI 3.43%, .

BSE auto index closed up by 61.60 points at 5,332.26 as Ashok Leyland 4.82%, Punjab tractors 4.23%, Tata motors 3.68%, Maruti udyog 2.39% are closed in green.

BSE health care index jumped by 63.98 points to close at 3,784.21 as Novartis India 5.18%, Biocon 3.78%, Cipla 3.52%, Ranbaxy labs 3.33% closed in positive.

The oil and gas index slipped by 77.15 points to close at 9561.95 as Essat oil 3.87%, HPCL 2.37%, ONGC 1.42%, BPCL 1.21% and reliance industries 1.03% at Rs2296.20 closed in red.

The IT index closed lower by 15.60 points at 4,627.83. Pushing it down are rolta India 2.13%, HCL tech 2.04%, tech Mahindra 1.46%, Mphasis 0.66% and TCS 0.48% closed in negative.

The capital goods index fell 11.23 points to close at 14,679.84 as carbo universal 2.64%, jyoti structure 2.67%, L&T 0.86%, BHEL 0.39% and Siemens 0.23% closed lower.

Mid Session Market

The market is now trading higher with significant gains on account of strong buying is seen in the Metal, Capital Goods and Bank stocks. The overall market breadth is positive as 1362 stocks are advancing while 1210 stocks are declining and 71 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
Inflation number for the week ended Sep 15 was reported at 3.23% as against 3.32% during the same period of the previous year.
At 12.40 pm, BSE Sensex was at 17,266.79 up by 116.23 points while Nifty was at 5,031.30 up by 30.75 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 51.96 points at 7,383.92 and small cap advanced by 52.50 points to 9,099.05.
BSE Metal index surged 456.29 points to trade at 13,958.89. The major gainers are Tata Steel (7.07%), JSW Steel (5.34%), SAIL (3.18%) and Hindalco Industries (3.90%). Tata Steel surged as the company is expecting nearly 60% of its revenue from its overseas operations.
BSE Capital goods index improved 141.51 points to 14,832.58. Leading to this charge are BHEL (1.62%), ABB (1.56%), L&T (0.74%) and Siemens (0.67%).Suzlon Energy is trading higher by (1.42%) to Rs.1,468.05 as the company has bagged an order worth over Rs 31 crore from the Turkish wind energy firm Ayen Enerji.
BSE Banks index increased by 120.93 points to trade at 9,350.45. The main gainers are SBI (3.14%), ICICI Bank (1.75%) and PNB (1.12%).
BSE IT index improved by 27.76 points to trade at 4,671.19 as Satyam (1.81%), Wipro (1.09%), and Infosys (0.37%).Satyam is trading as the company has launched a new solutions centre in Brisbane. The facility will support Queensland-based clients across various IT platforms with an emphasis on enterprise application-based solutions.
BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 13.99 points higher at 9,653.09 as RPL (1.99%), GAIL (1.32%), Indian Oil (1.57%) and ONGC (0.33%) are trading in positive.
BSE Auto index dropped 26.53 points to trade at 5,244.13. The main losers are Hero Honda (2.01%), M&M (1.86%), Bajaj Auto (1.46%) and Tata Motors (0.27%).

Pre Session Market

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening as the US market closed in green. On Thursday, the Indian markets ended on a positive note as BSE Sensex closed higher by 229.17 points at 17,150.56 while Nifty grew by 60.05 points to close at 5,000.55.Yestarday, Sensex touched the intraday high of 17,188.40 which is its all time high, while Nifty crossed psycholological mark of 5000. We expect the market to see some profit booking during the trading session.

On Thursday, the US market closed in positive territory. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) surged 34.79 points to close at 13,912.94. The S&P 500 (SPX) index increased by 5.96 points to close at 1,531.38 and the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) advanced 10.56 points to close at 2,709.59.

Indian ADRs ended in green. In technology sector, Satyam computers grew by (4.39%) along with Wipro by (3.07%) and Infosys by (2.71%). In banking sector, HDFC bank and ICICI bank grew by (1.78%) and (0.65%) respectively. Tata Motors grew by (0.32%). MTNL and VSNL advanced by (1.08%) and (0.27%) respectively.

The major stock markets in Asia are trading mixed. Japan''s Nikkei is trading lower by 47.57 points at 16,784.65. Hang Seng index trading flat at 27,058.50. Taiwan weighted is trading higher by 43.21 points at 9,456.86. Singapore Strait times trading down by 7.22 points at 3,707.55. Seoul Composite fell 4.48 points to trade at 1,940.80.

Yesterday, the gross equity purchased was Rs.3,810.70 (in crores) and the gross debt purchased was Rs122.60 (in crores). The gross equity sold was Rs2,806.80 (in crores), and the gross debt sold was Rs0.50 (in crores). The net investment of equity was Rs1003.90 (in crores) and the net debt investment was Rs122.10 (in crores).

Today, Nifty has support at 4,926 and resistance at 5,058 and BSE Sensex has support at 16,933 and resistance at 17,294.

Post Session Market

The market closed the session on a strong positive note as BSE Sensex surged by 229.17 points to close at 17,150.56 while Nifty grew by 60.05 points to close at 5000.55. Both the benchmark indices i.e. BSE Sensex and Nifty touched their lifetime highs. Sensex touched the intraday high of 17,188.40 while Nifty crossed psycholological mark of 5000 during the trading session. The market rallied towards the end on the back of strong global cues. Overall, the market breadth was little weak as 1477 stocks were closed in red and 1298 stocks were ended up in green while 57 stocks remained unchanged in BSE. The BSE mid cap fell 20.66 points to close at 7,331.96 while Small cap manages to close with gains of 17.21 point at 9,046.55.

BSE Metal index surged by 416.96 points to close at 13,502.60 as Sterlite Industries (6.48%), Tata Steel (5.82%), NALCO (4.96%), JSW Steel (2.36%) and SAIL (0.47%) are closed in green.

BSE IT index closed firmly at 4,643.43 as it was up by 141.46 points. Infosys (4.79%), HCL Tech. (3.05%), Satyam (2.56%), Tech Mahindra (2.20%), TCS (1.99%) and Wipro (1.26%) closed in green.

BSE bankex index improved by 111.72 points to close at 9,229.52 as HDFC Bank (4.26%), SBI (2.05%), AXIS Bank (1.61%), ICICI Bank (0.97%) and Andhra Bank (0.74%) closed higher.

BSE oil & gas index grew by 22.16 points to close at 9,639.10 as ONGC (3.74%) and GAIL India (1.15%) closed in green while IOCL (3.09%), RPL (2.77%), HPCL (2.05%) and BPCL (1.27%) closed in red.

BSE Capital goods index closed higher by 36.72 points at 14,691.07 as BEML (2.96%), BHEL (2.60%) and Suzlon energy (0.94%) closed higher while ABB (1.93%), Siemens (0.51%) and L&T (0.21%) closed lower.

BSE Health Care Index closed up by 28.87 points at 3,720.23 as Glennmark (4.90%), Cipla (3.16%), Nicholas Piramal (3.24%), Pfizer (1.38%) and Dr Reddy (1%) closed in positive.

Pre Session Market

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening on the back of strong positive global cues. On Wednesday, the Indian markets ended on a positive note as BSE Sensex closed higher by 21.85 points at 16,921.39 while Nifty grew by 1.65 points to close at 4,940.50. We expect the market to see some bull run during the trading session but expiry of the September F&O series today is also likely to play an important role.

Post Session Market

The market after touching the psychological mark managed to close the session with marginal gains as the volatility gripped the market. The benchmark index struck an all time high of 17,073.87 mark as well as the S&P CNX Nifty touched the all time high mark. The IT index remained attractive during the trading session as RBI relaxed the norms for outbound investments by mutual funds as well as raised the limit for the repay of the external loans of the companies. Finally, BSE Sensex closed at 16,921.39 with a gain of 21.85 points. The NSE Nifty advanced by 1.65 points to close at 4,940.50. Overall, the market breadth was positive as 1492 stocks were closed in green whereas 1262 were ended up in red zone while 61 stocks remained unchanged in BSE. The BSE mid cap and Small cap closed with little gains as it was up by 3.19 points and 4.08 points at 7,313.33 and 8,967.51 respectively. The Sensex covers the Journey from 16,000 to 17,000 in just 5 trading sessions, which is the fastest ever surge.

BSE IT index closed firmly at 4,501.97 as it was up by 153.35 points. Patni computers 7.60%, HCL tech 5.81%, Satyam 4.81%, Wipro 4.33%, TCS 3.88% and Infosys 3% closed in green.

BSE oil & gas index slipped by 160.57 points to close at 9,616.94 as Cairn India (6.40%), Reliance industries (3.24%) and RPL (2.57%) closed lower

BSE Capital goods index closed lower by 109.26 points at 14,654.35 as ABB (0.95%), BHEL (0.65%), L&T (0.76%), Suzlon Energy (0.45%) closed in negative.

BSE Health Care Index closed higher by 3.76 points at 3,691.36 as Pfizer 4.65%, Matrix labs 2.33%, Nicholas Piramal 1.64%, Cipla 0.89% and Dr Reddy''s Lab 0.67% closed in positive.

Mid Session Market

The market is now off the day''s high after The Sensex crossing the remarkable mark of 17,000 in the morning trade. The IT stocks are the top performing stocks today. However the Oil & Gas and FMCG stocks are reeling under pressure.

The broader market has outperformed the benchmark index as the BSE mid cap is higher by 72.78 points at 7,386.11 and small cap advanced by 95.27 points to 9,062.78.

The overall market breadth is positive as 1569 stocks are advancing while 944 stocks are declining

At 12.45 pm, BSE Sensex was at 16,944.76 up by 45.22 points while Nifty was at 4,952.40 up by 13.55 points.

BSE IT index surged by 128.78 points to trade at 4,477.40 as Satyam (3.63%), HCL Technologies (3.56%), TCS (2.99%), Infosys (2.94%) and Wipro (2.75%) are trading up.

On Tuesday, the Indian markets ended on a positive note as BSE Sensex closed higher by 53.71 points at 16,899.54 while Nifty grew by 14.7 points to close at 4,946. We expect the market to remain range bound during the trading session.

Post Session Market

The market after struggling in the middle at last closed the session in a positive territory. The BSE Sensex grew by 53.71 points to close at 16,899.54 and Nifty increased by 14.7 points to close at 4,946.The BSE mid cap and Small cap closed with little gains as it was up by 3.19 points and 4.08 points at 7,313.33 and 8,967.51 respectively.

BSE Metal index surged by 50.36 points to close at 13,080.83 as JSW steel 4.38%, Jindal Saw 3.01%, Hindalco 2.86%, Hind zinc 2.35% Nalco 0.34% and Sterlite 0.74% closed in green.

BSE bankex index slipped by 16.51 points to close at 8,944.98 as Oriental bank 3.97%, Allahabad bank 3.59%, Andhra bank 2.44%, PNB 2.12%, BOB 1.69%, SBI 1.60% and ICICI bank 0.58% closed lower.

BSE oil & gas index advanced by 126.34 points to close at 9,777.51 as Essar oil 9.33%, IOCL 7.89%, BPCL 7.31%, HPCL 3.41% and Reliance industries 1.82% closed in red.

BSE Capital goods index closed lower by 74.10 points at 14,763.61 as Areva 5.21%, Punj Lloyd 2.20%, Siemens 1.78%, L&T 1.12%, BHEL 0.41%, Suzlon 0.19%, closed in negative.

BSE IT index closed little lower by 1.21 points at 4,348.62 as Patni computer 2.88%, Patni computer 2.82%, Wipro 1.58%, Mphasis 0.56% and TCS 0.38% closed in red.

BSE Health Care Index closed up by 24.37 points at 3,687.60 as Glenmark 2.68%, Pfizer 1.96%, Wockhardt 1.75%, Ranbaxy 1.73% and Cipla 1.17% closed in positive.

Mid Session Market

After opening from the more than half an hour close, the market is now trading with modest gain as some fresh buying emerged in the Metal, Health Care & IT stocks. However the Realty stocks are facing a huge sell off today. The Rupee is now trading at Rs.39.78 as against dollar.

The overall market breadth is negative as 1121 stocks are advancing while 1425 stocks are declining and 74 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.45 pm, BSE Sensex was at 16,897.29 up by 51.46 points while Nifty was at 4,942.45 up by 10.25 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 17.52 points at 7,327.66 and small cap advanced by 36.90 points to 9,000.33.

BSE Metal index surged 145.55 points to trade at 13,176.02 as SAIL (2.53%), Tata Steel (1.47%), Hindalco Industries (0.68%) and JSW Steel (6.33%) are trading higher.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 19.40 points higher at 9,670.57 as BPCL (9.51%), HPCL (3.91%), Essar Oil (2.49%), IPCL (0.65%) and ONGC (0.43%) are trading in positive.

BSE Health Care index enhanced 31.75 points to trade at 3,694.98 as Ranbaxy (2.54%), Cipla (2.40%) and GSK (1.43%) are trading in green while Glenmark (1.39%), Sun Pharma (0.84%) and Dr. Reddy are trading in red.

BSE IT index increased by 15.75 points to trade at 4,365.58 as HCL Technologies (1.08%), Infosys (0.79%) and Satyam (0.73%) are trading up.

BSE Capital goods index dropped 44.74 points to 14,792.97 as Siemens (1.52%) and ABB (0.31%) and BHEL (0.01%) are trading down while L&T (0.24%) is trading up.

BSE Banks index slipped by 8.21 points to trade at 8,953.28 as PNB (0.93%) and SBI (0.60%) are trading in red while IDBI Bank (2.19%), HDFC Bank (0.73%) and ICICI Bank (0.01%) are trading in green.

BSE Auto index decreased 34.14 points to trade at 5,263.12 as Hero Honda (3.91%), Bajaj Auto (1.63%), Tata Motors (0.94%) and Maruti Udyog (0.82%) are trading in negative while Ashok Leyland (1.10%) and M&M (0.54%) are trading in positive.

Indian market is likely to have a flat opening as the Asian market is trading mixed. On Monday, the Indian markets ended on a strong positive note as BSE Sensex closed higher by 281.6 points at 16,845.83 while Nifty grew by 94.65 points to close at 4,932.20. We expect the market to remain volatile during the trading session.

On Monday, The US market closed in negative territory. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) dropped 61.13 points to close at 13,759.06. The S&P 500 (SPX) index decreased by 8.02 points to close at 1,517.73 and the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) slipped 3.27 points to close at 2,667.95.

In banking sector, ICICI bank and HDFC bank grew by (2.42%) and (1.93%) respectively. Tata Motors grew by (1.48%). VSNL and MTNL advanced by (3.29%) and (1.40%) respectively.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,865 and resistance at 4,980and BSE Sensex has support at 16,630 and resistance at 16,995.

The market closed the session on a strong positive note as BSE Sensex surged by 281.6 points to close at 16,845.83 and Nifty grew by 94.65 points to close at 4,932.20.The BSE mid cap and Small cap closed firmly as it was up by 110.22 points and 68.13 points at 7,310.14 and 8,963.43 respectively.

BSE Metal index surged by 217.71 points to close at 13,030.47 as Jindal steel (5.34%), SAIL (2.72%), Sterlite industries (2.32%), Hindalco (1.89%), JSW steel (1.76%) and Tata steel (1.09%) closed in green.

BSE bankex index grew by 221.65 points to close at 8,961.49 as Andhra bank (5.42%), PNB (5.01%), BOB (2.58%), Allahabad bank (4.01%), ICICI bank (3.18%), HDFC bank (1.78%) and SBI (1.38%) closed higher.

BSE oil & gas index advanced by 311.12 points to close at 9,651.17 as RPL (8.03%), GAIL (7.11%), Reliance industries (3.62%), CAIRN India (3.57%), HPCL (2.46%) and BPCL (1.25%) closed higher.

BSE Capital goods index closed firmly as it was up by 317.54 points at 14,837.71 as Jyoti structures (6.17%), Areva (4.76%), L&T (4.09%), Crompton greaves (3.39%), BHEL (2.24%), Siemens (0.78%) and ABB (0.33%) closed in positive.

BSE IT index closed lower by 78.51 points at 4,349.83 as Infosys (3.22%), Satyam (2.32%), Patni computers (2.02%), Tech Mahindra (1.22%) and TCS (0.89%) closed lower.

BSE Health Care Index closed up by 8.99 points at 3,663.23 as Opto circuits (5.82%), Fortis (3.97%), Glennmark (3.39%), Ranbaxy (2.75%) and Novartis (1.17%) closed in positive.

BSE FMCG index closed flat at 2,153.57. United breweries (10.47%), Marico (2.70%), HUL (2.15%), Colgate (1.06%) and Dabur (0.60%) closed higher.

Mid Session Market

The market has gained further grounds on the back of buying interest continued in the Oil & Gas, Metal and Capital Goods stocks. However the IT stocks are still trading lower on selling pressure due to strong rupee, which is trading at below Rs.40 per dollar.

The overall market breadth is positive as 1364 stocks are advancing while 1257 stocks are declining .

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 16,731.01 up by 166.78 points while Nifty was at 4,901.55 up by 64 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 79.90 points at 7,279.82 and small cap advanced by 72.09 points to 8,967.39.

The market surged to close the session on a positive note as BSE Sensex closed higher by 216.28 points at 16,564.23 and Nifty grew by 90 points to close at 4,837.55.The BSE mid cap and Small cap closed firm as it was up by 67.21 points and 19.23 points at 7,199.92 and 8,895.30 respectively.

The market has lost further grounds on the back of selling pressures in the selective scrips mainly led by the IT stocks. However the Realty and Oil & Gas stocks are gaining grounds.

Post Market Commentary

The markets closed on negative note as BSE Sensex closed lower by 54.06 points at 15,542.77 and the Nifty slipped by 10.8 points to close at 4,497.05. The BSE mid cap closed lower by 8.65 points at 6,875.74 while Small cap closed higher by 14.72 points at 8,529.09. The market breadth was strong with 1,402 stocks advanced and 1340 stocks declined.

BSE Metal index surged by 166.17 points to close at 11,772.22 as SH.Precoated (5%), Jindal steel (4.80%), Tata Steel (2.27%), Jindal stainless (2.20%) and sterlite industries (0.85%) closed in green.

Mid Market Commentary

The market has gave its opening gains and slipped to trade in the negative territory. The selling of scrips was seen in the IT and Bankex stocks. The overall market breadth is positive as 1368 stocks are advancing while 1245 stocks are declining on BSE.

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening as the Asian market is trading mixed and US market closed mixed. BSE bankex index closed higher by 11.84 points at 8,018.42 as Andhra bank (1.58%), AXIS bank (1.36%) and ICICI bank (1.17%) closed higher while Bank of Boroda (2.52%), BOI (2.43%), Yes bank (1.53%), SBI (0.99%) and HDFC bank (0.15%) closed lower.

BSE Metal index advanced by 20.02 points to close at 11,598.59 as JSW steel (2.68%), Sesa Goa (1.72%), Sterlite (0.55%), Welspun (0.35%) closed higher while Bhusan steel (4.55%), Hind Zinc (2.37%) and Jindal stainless (1.07%) closed lower.

BSE Auto Index grew marginally by 2.64 points to close at 4,876.96 as Tata Motors (1.05%), Ashok Leyland (0.91%) and Bajaj Auto (0.90%) closed in green while M&M (0.84%), Maruti Udyog (2.34%), Hero Honda (1.01%) closed in red.

BSE oil & gas index dropped by 45.95 points to close at 8,141.59 as HPCL (0.94%), RPL (0.73%), IPCL (0.67%), Indian Oil (0.44%), ONGC (0.23%) and BPCL (0.02%) closed lower.

BSE IT index jumped by 20.45 points to close at 4,646.29 as HCL Tech. (1.61%), Wipro (1.47%), Infosys (0.44%), TCS (0.53%) and I-Flex (0.48%) closed higher.

BSE Health Care Index closed up by 18.33 points at 3,698.69 as Matrix labs (8.53%), Sun pharma (3.16%), Cadila (2.26%), Cipla (1.87%), GlaxoSmithKline (0.33%) and Dr reddy (0.16%) closed higher.

BSE FMCG index grew by 6.97 points to close at 2,001.21 as united breweries (3.10%), Colgate Palmolive (1.58%), Dabur (1.29%), HUL (0.81%) and Godrej (0.68%) closed in green.

Mid Market Commentary

The market is now trading flat after it has pared all its opening gains as selling emerged in the selective scrips led by Oil & Gas and Capital Goods stocks. The market is little volatile since its opening session. However the broader market has outperformed. The overall market breadth is positive as 1597 stocks are advancing while 951 stocks are declining

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,479.40 up by 26.89 points while Nifty was at 4,477.05 down by 2.20 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 29.83 points at 6,795.75 and small cap advanced by 36.39 points to 8,307.34.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 11.49 points to trade at 8,018.07 as IDBI Bank (2.11%), ICICI Bank (0.43%) and PNB (0.41%) is trading in green while HDFC Bank (0.94%) and SBI (0.12%) are trading in red.

BSE Metal index advanced 43.27 points to trade at 11,621.84 as SAIL (0.88%), Tata Steel (0.67%) and Sterlite Industries (0.16%) are trading higher.

BSE Health Care index increased 4.04 points to trade at 3,684.40 as Cipla (2.22%), Sun Pharma (0.42%) and Dr. Reddy (0.30%) are trading in positive whereas Ranbaxy (1.47%) and GSK (0.35%) are trading in negative.

BSE IT index advanced by 36.77 points to trade at 4,662.61 as Wipro (1.07%), Satyam (0.89%), TCS (0.66%), Infosys (0.63%) and HCL Tech. (0.32%) are trading up.

BSE FMCG index grew 0.42 points to trade at 1,994.66 as Dabur (1.25%), HUL (0.45%) are trading higher while ITC (0.32%) is trading higher.

BSE Capital goods index dropped 22.62 points to 13,609.99 as Siemens (1.66%), BHEL (1.10%) and L&T (0.38%) are trading down whereas ABB (0.42%) is trading up.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 14.30 points lower at 8,173.24 as RPL (0.81%), IPCL (0.77%), GAIL (0.64%), HPCL (0.42%) and BPCL (0.33%) are trading in negative.

BSE Auto index slipped 4.74 points to trade at 4,869.58 as Maruti Udyog (1.68%), M&M (0.84%) and Hero Honda (0.78%) are trading in red while Bajaj Auto (1.26%) and Tata Motors (0.25%) are trading in green.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening on the back of strong global cues. On Tuesday, the Indian markets ended on a positive note, as BSE Sensex closed higher by 43.35 points at 15,465.40 while Nifty grew by 4.5 points to close at 4,479.25. We expect the market to remain range bound during the trading session.

On Tuesday, the US market closed in green. The Dow Jones Industrial Average grew by 91.12 points at 13,448.86. The Nasdaq advanced by 33.88 points at 2,630.24. The S&P 500 index increased by 15.43 points to close at 1,489.42.

The major stock markets in Asia are trading higher. Japan''s Nikkei trading higher by 11.92 points at 16,408.55. Hang Seng grew by 310.60 points to trade at 24,196.67. Taiwan weighted advanced by 33.74 points to trade at 8,956.72. Singapore Strait times increased by 20.56 points to trade at 3,396.62.

Indian ADRs ended in positive. In technology sector, Infosys grew by (1.91%) along with Wipro by (0.82%) while Patni computers and Satyam slipped by (0.83%) and (0.47%) respectively. In banking sector, ICICI bank advanced by (1.78%) while HDFC bank fell by (0.17%). VSNL and MTNL closed higher by (2.23%) and (1.88%) respectively.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,443 and resistance at 4,548 and BSE Sensex has support at 15,300 and resistance at 15,710.

Post Market Commentary

The markets closed the session on a positive note as BSE Sensex closed higher by 43.35 points at 15,465.40 and the Nifty grew by 4.5 points to close at 4,479.25. The BSE mid cap and Small cap closing higher by 45.85 points and 76.50 points at 6,765.92 and 8,270.95 respectively. The market breadth was strong with 1,744 stocks are advancing and 991 stocks are declining.

BSE Capital goods index grew by 43.83 points to close at 13,632.61 as Jyoti Structures (4.78%), L&T (1.40%), Punj Lloyd (1.34%), ABB (1.10%) and Bharat electricals (1.07%) closed in green while Bhel (1.53%), Siemens (0.79%) and Suzlon energy (0.42%) closed in red.

BSE bankex index closed higher by 16.26 points at 8,006.58 as AXIS bank (3.67%), IOB (3.27%), Union bank (2.38%), Oriental bank (1.71%) and SBI (0.30%) closed in green.

BSE Metal index slipped by 59.37 points to close at 11,578.57 as Hindalco (2.09%), Tata Steel (1.22%), Jindal Stainless (1.15%), SAIL (0.93%), Sterlite industries (0.71%) and Hind Zinc (0.50%) closed lower.

BSE Health Care Index closed up by 49.03 points at 3,680.36 as Glennmark (4.90%), Cipla (4.45%), Lupin (3.28%), Nicholas Piramal (2.88%) and Ranbaxy (2.66%) closed higher.

BSE FMCG index decreased by 8.87 points to close at 1,994.24 as Colgate Palmolive (2.15%), Nestle (1.26%), ITC (1.24%), Tata Tea (0.63%), Dabur India (0.40%) and Britannia 0.29% closed in red.

BSE IT index jumped by 18.02 points to close at 4,625.84 as Mosear Baer (1.67%), Infosys (1.44%) and TCS (0.65%) closed higher while Patni computers (5.58%), Wipro (1.99%) and Satyam (0.14%) closed lower.

Mid Market Commentary

The market is now trading flat. The market is little volatile since its opening session. The Realty, IT and Bank stocks are facing the strong demand. However the FMCG and Auto stocks are facing the selling pressures. The overall market breadth is positive as 1597 stocks are advancing while 951 stocks are declining and 75 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,448.94 up by 26.89 points while Nifty was at 4,474.60 up by 0.15 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 37.04 points at 6,757.11 and small cap advanced by 58.87 points to 8,253.32.

BSE Capital goods index improved 7.41 points to 13,596.19 as ABB (0.94%) and L&T (0.50%) are trading up whereas BHEL (0.88%) and Siemens (0.08%) are trading down.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a flat opening as the Asian market is trading mixed. On Monday, the Indian markets ended on a positive note, as BSE Sensex closed higher by 103.45 points at 15,422.05 while Nifty grew by 10.75 points to close at 4,474.75. We expect the market to remain range bound during the trading session.

US market remain closed yesterday due to celebration of their labor day.

The major stock markets in Asia are trading mixed. Japan''s Nikkei trading lower by 70.15 points at 16,454.78. Hang Seng grew by 33.37 points to trade at 23,937.46.
