Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex closed the session on a positive note as it grew by 133.08 points at 14,544.46 while Nifty closed at 4,295.80 up by 46.15 points. Of the 2,564 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,332 stocks advanced while 1,153 stocks declined. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed higher by 30.79 points and 63.47 points at 6,222.40 and 7,413.03 respectively.

BSE bank index closed higher by 102.13 points at 7,607.35 as HDFC bank 3.18%, PNB 2.38%, SBI 2.09%, Bank of Baroda 1.42%, BOI 0.55% and ICICI bank 0.87% closed in positive.

BSE Capital goods index closed higher by 74.56 points at 11,153.99 as ABB 1.83% and L&T 0.25% closed in green while BHEL (49.47%) and Siemens (0.30%) closed in red.

BSE Metal index closed at 10,405.99 up by 61.32 points as Tata Steel 0.71%, SAIL 0.68% and Hindalco 0.21% closed in positive while NALCO (0.80%) closed in negative.

BSE Auto Index closed in positive at 5,012.28 up by 64.12 points as Hero Honda 5.01%, Maruti Udyog 2.63%, Tata motors 2.07%, Bajaj Auto 1.06% and M&M 0.88% closed in green.

BSE oil & gas index closed up by 40.09 points at 7,795.67 as HPCL 4.08%, BPCL 1.98%, Reliance petroleum 1.82% and GAIL 1.56% closed in green while ONGC (0.19%) closed in red.

BSE FMCG index closed higher by 26.06 points at 1,907.38 as HLL 2.42%, Dabur 1.53% and ITC 0.77% closed in green.

Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is trading firm at higher level and remains range bound. The overall market breadth is strong as 1426 stocks are advancing while 866 stocks are declining and 79 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,519.61 up by 108.23 points and Nifty was at 4,278.80 up by 29.15 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 52.18 points at 6,243.79 and small cap advanced by 79.08 points to 7,428.64.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening, as the Asian market is trading higher and US market closed in green. On Wednesday, the Indian markets closed in negative zone, as BSE Sensex ended lower by 96.83 points at 14,411.38 whereas Nifty slipped by 43.6 points to close at 4,249.65. We expect the market to remain choppy during the day.

Wednesday, the US markets closed in green. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) closed in positive by 111.74 points at 13,633.08. The S&P 500 (SPX) index closed up by 12.12 points at 1,530.23 while the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) closed higher by 20.53 points at 2,592.59.

Indian ADRs ended mixed. In technology sector, Wipro and Satyam closed higher by 2.92% and 0.52% respectively while Patni computers and Infosys slipped by 2.97% and 0.65% respectively. In banking sector, ICICI bank and HDFC Bank grew by 1.76% and 0.45% respectively. VSNL increased by 0.23% while MTNL tumbled by 1.30%. In automobile sector, Tata Motors closed up by 0.60%. In health care sector, Dr Reddy;s lab closed lower by 0.18%.

The major stock markets in Asia are trading strong. The Nikkei 225 is trading at 17,781.41 up by 193.15 points. Hang Seng trading higher by 194.48 points at 20,488.24. Straits Times trading in positive at 3,511.13 rose by 15.95 points. Taiex gained 60.98 points to trade at 8,208.32.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,205 and resistance at 4,310 and BSE Sensex has support at 14,305 and resistance at 14,640.

The BSE Sensex closed the session on a negative note lower by 96.83 points at 14,411.38 while Nifty closed at 4,249.65 down by 43.6 points. On Tuesday, the Indian markets ended in positive, as BSE Sensex closed at 14,508.21 up by 110.32 points whereas Nifty gained by 36.7 points to close at 4,293.25. We expect the market to remain range bound during the day.

Tuesday, the US markets closed in green. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) closed higher by 14.06 points at 13,521.34. The S&P 500 (SPX) index closed up by 2.38 points at 1,518.11 while the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) up by 14.87 points to close at 2,572.06.

Indian ADRs ended mixed. In technology sector, Wipro closed lower by 1.99% as well as Infosys by 0.60% while Satyam and Patni computers closed up by 1.09% and 0.29% respectively. In banking sector, HDFC Bank and ICICI bank gained by 2.39% and 0.41% respectively. VSNL decreased by 4.13% while MTNL gained 3.36%. In automobile sector, Tata Motors closed up by 1.78%. In health care sector, Dr Reddy;s lab closed up by 0.81%.

The major stock market in Asia is trading weak. The Nikkei 225 is trading at 17,631.56 down by 41 points, Hang Seng tumbled by 99.92 points to trade at 20,369.67. Straits Times trading lower at 3,501.18 slipped by 25.90 points. Taiex fall by 44.70 points to trade at 8,136.79.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,240 and resistance at 4,330 and BSE Sensex has support at 14,320 and resistance at 14,680.

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening as the Asian market is trading higher and US market closed in a green territory. On Friday, the Indian markets ended on a positive note as BSE Sensex grew by 24.93 points to close at 13,796.16 while Nifty gained 19.5 points to close at 4,085.90. BSE Capital goods index closed at 9,925.78 down by 10.56 points as L&T (0.20%) and BHEL (0.16%) closed in red while Siemens (0.13%) and ABB (2%) closed in green.

Mid Day market Commentary

The market is still trading in green on the back of heavy buying seen in the selective scrips. The mid cap and the small cap are also trading higher by 31.30 points and 50.07 points to 5894.46 and 7081.64 respectively. Overall market breadth is strong.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,002.47 up by 68.20 points and Nifty was at 4,141.85 up by 24.5 points. About 1402 stocks advanced while 915 stocks declined and 83 stocks remained unchanged in BSE.

BSE Metal index inclined 125.13 points to 10121.92 as Tata Steel (1.44%), NALCO (1.35%), Hindalco (0.74%) and SAIL (0.49%) are trading higher.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 105.87 points up at 7350.83 as HPCL (3.93%), BPCL (3.58%), GAIL (1.35%) and IPCL (0.79%) are trading in positive territory while ONGC (0.48%) is trading in negative territory.

BSE capital goods index surged 89.82 points to trade at 10026.16 as ABB (2.07%), L&T (1.31%), BHEL (1.26%) and Siemens (0.8%) are trading in green.

BSE Banks index advanced 39.05 points to trade at 6913.54 as SBI (1.01%) and HDFC Bank (0.8%) are trading higher whereas PNB and ICICI Bank are trading down by (0.27%) and (0.22%) respectively.

BSE Auto index rose 27.84 points to trade at 5091.86 as Hero Honda (1.94%), Maruti Udyog (1.42%), Bajaj Auto (0.76%), M&M (0.27%) and Tata Motors (0.16%) are trading in green.

BSE Health Care index grew by 22.73 points to trade at 3768.09 as Ranbaxy (2.21%), Sun Pharma (1.75%) and GSK (0.2%) are trading higher while Dr. Reddy is trading lower by (0.49%).

BSE FMCG index increased 3.80 points to trade at 1815.31 as Dabur (1.25%) and HLL (0.64%) are trading in green whereas ITC (0.22%) are trading in red.

BSE IT index fell 13.98 points to trade at 5068.23 as Satyam (1.23%), Wipro (0.87%), HCL (0.63%) and Infosys (0.33%) are trading lower.

Pre Open Market commentary

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening, as the Asian market is trading higher and US market ended in green. On Friday, the Indian markets ended on a negative note as BSE Sensex closed at 13,934.27 down by 143.94 points while Nifty declined by 34.9 points to close at 4,115.95. We expect the market to trade in positive territory during the day.

Friday, the US markets closed in green. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) closed higher by 23.24 points at 13,264.62. The S&P 500 (SPX) index grew by 3.23 points to close at 1,505.62 while the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) closed up by 6.69 points at 2,572.15.

Indian ADRs ended mixed. In technology sector, Satyam computers declined by 0.64% followed by Infosys 0.30%, Wipro 0.24% and Patni computers 0.15%. In banking sector, ICICI bank closed higher by 0.19% while HDFC bank declined by 0.36%. VSNL and MTNL grew by 1.78% and 1.50% respectively. In automobile sector, Tata Motors up by 0.67%.

The major stock markets in Asia are trading in green. Japan''s Nikkei surged by 267.42 points at 17,662.34 along with Hang Seng gained 163.44 points to trade at 21,004.52. Straits Times trading higher at 3,503.70 rose by 17.94 points. Taiwan weighted advanced by 51.90 points to trade at 8,117.96.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,030 and resistance at 4,200 and BSE Sensex has support at 13,700 and resistance at 14,250.

Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex closed with a decline of 143.94 points at 13,934.27 while Nifty closed lower by 34.9 points at 4,115.95. Of the 2667 stocks traded on BSE, 1461 declined, 1118 advanced. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed lower by 3.09 points and 22.63 points to settle at 5863.16 and 7031.57 respectively.

BSE Metal index declined by 18.61 points to close at 9996.79 as Tata Steel (0.70%) and SAIL (0.96%) closed in red while Hindalco 1.54% ended in green.

BSE bank index down by 59.63 points to close at 6874.49 as PNB (1.36%) and ICICI Bank (1.92%) ended in red while SBI (0.58%) closed in green.

BSE Auto Index closed lower by 6.93 points at 5064.02 as Hero Honda (0.97%), M&M (0.33%) and Maruti (0.98%) ended in red.

BSE Health Care Index closed at 3745.36 grew by 0.33 points as GSK (0.42%), Dr.Reddy''s (0.30%) and Cipla (2.72%) closed in green.

BSE oil & gas index closed lower by 92.82 points at 7244.96 as BPCL (3.43%), IPCL (1.74%) and IOCL (1.43%) closed in red.

BSE IT index closed at 5082.21 down by 42 points as Satyam (1.70%), HCL Tech. (1.51%), TCS (1.23%) and Infosys (0.43%) closed in red.

BSE FMCG index closed higher by 0.42 points at 1811.51 as Dabur (0.26%) ended in green while ITC (0.46%) ended in red.

Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is trading flat as profit booking was seen across the sectors led by IT and oil & gas. But the mid cap and the small cap are trading higher by 19.46 points and 15.08 points to 5885.71 and 7069.28 respectively. Overall market breadth is marginally strong.

At 12.24 pm, BSE sensex was at 14069.30 down by 8.91 points while Nifty was at 4154.55 up by 3.7 points. About 1220 stocks advanced while 1101 stocks declined and 91 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

We expect the market to be range bound during the trading session.

Thursday, the US markets closed in green. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) closed higher by 29.50 points at 13241.38. The S&P 500 (SPX) index grew by 6.47 points to close at 1502.39 while the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) closed up by 7.62 points at 2565.46.

Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex closed with a positive growth of 205.84 points at 14,078.21 while Nifty closed higher by 62.95 points at 4,150.85. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed higher by 70.53 points and 60.36 points to settle at 5866.25 and 7054.20 respectively.
