Post Market Commentary

The markets closed the session on a positive note as BSE Sensex closed higher by 196.86 points at 15,318.60 and the Nifty grew by 51.7 points to end at 4,464. The BSE mid cap and Small cap closing higher by 122.98 points and 102.56 points at 6,608.42 and 8,060.52 respectively. The market breadth was strong with 1,639 stocks are advancing and 1,060 stocks are declining.

BSE Metal index surged by 268.50 points to close at 11,565.81 as Tata steel (4.92%), JSW Steel (3.94%), SAIL (1.81%) and NALCO (1.29%) closed in positive.

BSE Auto Index grew by 101.35 points to close at 4,878.05 as M&M (5.02%), Maruti Udyog (4.13%), Tata Motors (2.93%), Hero Honda (0.42%) and Ashok Leyland (0.13%) closed in green.

BSE oil & gas index improved by 183.70 points to close at 8,160.13 as ONGC (2.35%), IPCL (3.03%), Reliance petroleum (3.53%), Indian Oil (0.70%) and HPCL (0.39%) closed higher.

BSE bankex index closed higher by 107.29 points at 7,858.79 as Yes bank (10.25%), Andhra bank (3.65%), Federal bank (3.13%), Karnataka bank (3%), PNB (2.91%), Allahabad bank (2.84%), Oriental bank (2.79%) and ICICI bank (1.44%) closed in green.

BSE Capital goods index grew by 118.02 points to close at 13,424.74 as Havell India (10.04%), BEML (6.62%), Lakshmi machines (5.76%), AIAEngineer (3.15%), Siemens (2.27%), BHEL (1.65%) and Suzlon energy (1.33%) closed higher.

BSE Health Care Index closed higher by 71.65 points at 3,572.82 as Nicholas Piramal (7.83%), Opto Circuits (5.32%), Biocon (4.92%), Fortis Healthcare (4.12%), Ranbaxy (3.53%), Glennmark (3.49%), and Matrix labs (3.21%) closed in positive.

BSE FMCG index increased by 24.61 points to close at 1,973.93 as Nestle (5.62%), United Breweries (3.32%), HUL (3.09%), Colgate Palmolive (3.01%) and Tata Tea (2.31%) closed in green.

BSE IT index closed up by 33.36 points at 4,585.66 as Tech Mahindra (7.87%), Finance tech (3.47%), Patni computers (2.63%), TCS limited (2.28%), IFlex (1.81%) and HCL tech (1.64%) and Wipro (1.26%) closed higher.

Mid Market Commentary

The market has gained more points in comparison to its opening level. The intensive buying in scrips continued across the board. The Oil & Gas, Metal and Realty stocks were in demand today. The overall market breadth is positive as 1670 stocks are advancing while 824 stocks are declining and 64 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,330.54 up by 208.80 points while Nifty was at 4,466.05 up by 53.75 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 93.52 points at 6,578.96 and small cap advanced by 76.89 points to 8,034.85.

BSE Metal index surged 178.02 points to trade at 11,475.33 as NALCO (2.73%), Tata Steel (2.59%), SAIL (1.20%) and Sterlite Industries (0.78%) are trading in green.

BSE Capital goods index increased 122.22 points to 13,428.94 as Siemens (1.27%), BHEL (0.97%) and ABB (0.62%) are trading in positive whereas L&T (0.04%) is trading in negative.

BSE Auto index improved 117.21 points to trade at 4,893.91 as M&M (6.35%), Tata Motors (4.11%), Maruti Udyog (3.58%) and Bajaj Auto (1.14%) are trading in green.

BSE Health Care index increased 53.20 points to trade at 3,554.37 as Ranbaxy (2.91%), Cipla (1.82%), Dr. Reddy (0.78%) are trading in green whereas GSK (0.76%) and Sun Pharma (0.08%) are trading in red.

BSE IT index advanced by 34.99 points to trade at 4,587.29 as HCL Tech.(1.33%), TCS (1.05%), Wipro (1.05%), Satyam (0.22%) and Infosys (0.12%) are trading up.

BSE FMCG index grew 12.61 points to trade at 1,961.93 as HUL (2.20%), Dabur (0.15%) and ITC (0.09%) are trading higher.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening on the Asian Market is trading higher. On Thursday, the Indian markets ended on a positive note, as BSE Sensex closed higher by 128.70 points at 15,121.74 while Nifty grew by 53 points to close at 4,412.30. We expect the market to remain choppy during the trading session.

Thursday, the US markets closed in mixed. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) slipped by 50.56 points to close at 13,238.73. The S&P 500 (SPX) index decreased marginally by 6.12 points to close at 1,457.64 and the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) advanced by 2.14 points to close at 2,565.30.

Indian ADRs ended in negative territory. In technology sector, Infosys slipped by (1.19%) along with Satyam by (0.37%) and Wipro (0.07%) while Patni computers grew by (4.42%). In banking sector, ICICI bank and HDFC bank decreased by (2.55%) and (1.73%) respectively. MTNL dropped by (2.08%) while VSNL closed higher by (4.44%). Tata Motors decreased by (0.30%).


The major stock markets in Asia are trading firm. Japan''s Nikkei trading higher by 181.41 points at 16,335.23.Hang Seng grew by 69.16 points to trade at 23,553.70. Taiwan weighted advanced by 88.36 points to trade at 8,859.57. Seoul Composite increased by 12.89 points to trade at 1,854.59.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,370 and resistance at 4,488 and BSE Sensex has support at 14,980 and resistance at 15,370.

Post Market Commentary

The markets closed the session on a positive note as BSE Sensex closed higher by 128.70 points at 15,121.74 and the Nifty grew by 53 points to end at 4,412.30. The BSE mid cap and Small cap closing higher by 35.05 points and 83.74 points at 6,485.44 and 7,957.96 respectively. Mid Market Commentary

The market has lost some of its gaining points and slipped from the day''s high as profit booking emerged in the selective scrips led by the Metal stocks. The overall market breadth is positive as 1600 stocks are advancing while 811 stocks are declining and 64 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening on the back of strong global cues. On Wednesday, the Indian markets ended on a positive note, as BSE Sensex closed higher by 73.85 points at 14,993.04 while Nifty grew by 38.60 points to close at 4,359.30. Today, Nifty has support at 4,320 and resistance at 4,530 and BSE Sensex has support at 14,900 and resistance at 15,420.

Post Market Commentary

The market finally ended the day on a positive note after it opens in a deep negative territory. All the BSE indices ended in green while the IT and Health Care indices ended in red. Finally, BSE Sensex closed at 14,993.04 with a gain of 73.85 points. The NSE Nifty advanced by 38.60 points to close at 4,359.30.

Overall, the market breadth was positive as 1530 stocks were closed in green whereas 1094 were ended up in red zone while 69 stocks remained unchanged in BSE. BSE Mid cap and BSE Small cap indices grew by 40.75 points at 6,450.39 and by 65.78 points to 7,874.22 respectively.

BSE Metal index closed 455.50 points up at 11,203.77 as Tata Steel (8.99%), SAIL (5.15%), Sterlite Industries (2.70%) and Hindalco (2.12%) ended higher.

Post Session Market Commentary

The markets closed the session on a strong positive note as BSE Sensex closed higher by 417.51 points at 14,842.38 and the Nifty grew 112.45 points to end at 4,302.60. The BSE mid cap and Small cap closing higher by 170.21 points and 203.27 points at 6,360.66 and 7,725.52 respectively.

BSE Metal index gained 361.04 points to close at 10,637.64. as JSW Steel (7.06%), Hindalco (4.54%), Sterlite industries (4.49%), Tata Steel (3.55%), Jindal Steel (2.64%) and Nalco (1.18%) closed higher.

BSE Auto Index gained 113.71 points to close at 4,682.97 as TVS Motor (5.86%), Maruti Udyog (5.13%), Escorts (3.13%), Punjab tractors (3.12%), Tata Motors (2.84%), Apollo Tyres (2.82%), Mahindra and Mahindra by (2.66%) a closed in green.

Mid Market Commentary

The market has maintained its upward trend and is still trading higher on the back of sustained buying continued in the selective scrips mainly led by the Capital Goods, Metal and Realty stocks. The overall market breadth is still impressive as 1890 stocks are advancing while 525 stocks are declining and 49 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

Post Session Market Commentary

The markets closed on a positive note as BSE Sensex closed higher by 260.89 points at 14,424.87 and the Nifty gained 75.2 points to end at 4,190.15. All the BSE indices closed in positive territory with BSE mid cap and Small cap closing higher by 85.34 points and 97.86 points at 6,190.45 and 7,522.25 respectively. The market breadth was favorable with 1,563 stocks advancing and 1,067 stocks declining.

BSE Metal index gained 284.2 points to close at 10,276.60. Pushing it up was JSW Steel (10.13%), Welspun Gujarat (5.77%) and Bhushan Steel (4.98%) whereas Jindal Saw (0.55%) and NALCO (0.24%) declined marginally.

BSE Auto Index gained 105.8 points to close at 4,569.26. Taking it higher was Tata Motors (5.71%), Escorts Limited (5.06%), Apollo Tyres (3.87%) and Cummins India (3.11%) whereas Punjab Tractors (1.07%), Hindustan Motor (1.2%) declined.

BSE oil & gas index added 131.53 points to close at 7,516.68. Reliance Petroleum (2.81%) led the gainers pack, followed by ONGC (2.73%), Essar Oil (1.97%). Among the losers were Cairn India (0.59%) and Indian Oil Corp (0.77%).

BSE Bankex index ended higher by 91.14 points at 7,315.43 with Yes Bank (4.79%), Kotak Bank (3.7%) and SBI (3.62%) among the gainers. Among the losers were PNB (0.19%), Canara Bank (0.33%) and Axis Bank (1.8%).

BSE Capital goods index gained by 285.56 points to close at 12,622.23 with SKF India (6.4%), BHEL (5.34%) and Punj Lloyd (4.76%) leading the index gainers. Among the losers were Laxmi Machine Works (2.84%), Kirloskar Oil Engines (2.25%) and Suzlon Energy (1.11%).

BSE FMCG index advanced by 15.58 points at 1,877.97 with Bata India (6.32%), Tata Tea (6.29%) and United Spirits (1.31%) were among the major index gainers.

BSE IT index grew by 52.2 points to 4,408.48 as Satyam (3.34%), Moser Baer (2.63%) and Patni Computers (2.51%) closed in positive territory while HCL technologies (2.09%) and Tech Mahindra (1.48%) registered losses.

Mid Market Commentary

The market is still trading higher on the back of sustained buying continued in the selective scrips mainly led by the Metal stocks. However the Consumer Durables and IT stocks are facing some selling tune. The overall market breadth is impressive as 1283 stocks are advancing while 1104 stocks are declining and 71 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a negative note as it closed lower by 235.37 points at 14,903.03 while Nifty decreased by 62.05 points to close at 4,339.50. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap decreased by 52.31 points and 48.95 points to close at 6,552.93 and 7,842.59 respectively. Of the 2,669 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,499 stocks declined while 1,103 stocks advanced.

BSE FMCG index closed little higher by 7.16 points at 1,964.27 as ITC (1.77%) and Dabur (1.24%) closed higher while HUL (2.20%) closed lower.

BSE Capital goods index decreased by 236.29 points to close at 12,739.99 as Suzlon Energy (3.59%), L&T (2.86%), BHEL (2.14%) and Siemens (1.77%) closed in red while ABB (0.90%) closed in green.

BSE Metal index decreased by 185.20 points to close at 11,139.43 as Hindalco industries (3.05%), Sterlite Industries (2.37%), SAIL (1.58%) and Tata steel (0.27%) and are closed lower.

BSE oil & gas index dropped by 89.08 points at 7,719.26 as Reliance petroleum (0.35%), ONGC (1.67%), GAIL (2.25%) and IPCL (0.96%) closed in red while BPCL (0.99%) and HPCL (0.81) closed in green.

BSE bankex index closed lower by 85.55 points at 7,962.96 as ICICI bank (3.03%), HDFC Bank (1.60%) and IDBI (1.47%) closed lower while SBI (2.80%) and PNB (0.83%) closed higher.

BSE Auto Index decreased by 50.53 points to close at 4,746.12 as Maruti Udyog (2.95%), Tata Motors (1.01%), Bajaj Auto (0.98%) and Hero Honda (0.64%) closed lower while Mahindra and Mahindra (0.27%) closed higher.

BSE IT index slipped by 106.48 points to close at 4,597.82 as Infosys (2.74%), Wipro (2.64%), Satyam (2.18%) and HCL technologies (0.17%) closed in negative while TCS (0.52%) closed in positive.

BSE Health Care Index closed lower by 29.68 points at 3,598.77 as Cipla (1.50%), Sun pharma (1.09%) and Glennmark (1.43%) closed in red while Ranbaxy labs (0.93%) and Dr Reddy lab (0.57%) closed in green.

Mid Market Commentary

The market after a steep fall in the opening session now become stable and is trading lower. All the sectorial indices are trading in red. The overall market breadth is negative as 786 stocks are advancing while 1614 stocks are declining and 50 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,813.37 down by 325.03 points while Nifty was at 4,309.55 down by 92 points. The BSE mid cap is lower by 102.33 points at 6,502.91 and small cap dropped by 91.36 points to 7,800.18.

BSE Capital goods index dropped 305.09 points to 12,671.19 as BHEL (2.96%), L&T (2.90%), Siemens (2.87%) and ABB (1.91%) are trading in negative.

BSE Metal index decreased 295.67 points to trade at 11,028.96 as Hindalco Industries (4.91%), SAIL (2.68%) and Tata Steel (2.15%) are trading in red.

BSE Banks index is trading down by 154.37 points to trade at 7,894.14 as ICICI Bank (3.17%), HDFC Bank (2.94%), PNB (1.40%) and SBI (0.67%) are trading in negative.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 120.43 points lower at 7,687.91 as IPCL (2.51%), GAIL (2.42%), ONGC (0.90%) and RPL (0.88%) are trading in negative.

BSE IT index decreased 92.50 points to trade at 4,611.80 as HCL Tech. (4.36%), Wipro (2.55%), Satyam (2.54%) and Infosys (1.62%) are trading down.

BSE Auto index fell 66.52 points to trade at 4,731.13 as Maruti Udyog (2.94%), M&M (1.77%), Hero Honda (1.53%), Bajaj Auto (1.29%) and Tata Motors (0.91%) are trading in red.

BSE Health Care index dropped 31.69 points to trade at 3,596.76 as Cipla (1.60%), Sun Pharma (1.51%), GSK (0.35%) and Dr. Reddy (0.32%) are trading lower.

BSE FMCG index slipped 18.87 points to trade at 1,938.24 as HUL (2.44%) and ITC (1.76%) are trading in red while Dabur (0.99%) is trading in green.

Pre Open Market Commentary

Indian market is likely to have a negative opening on the back of negative global cues. On Friday, the Indian markets ended on a positive note, as BSE Sensex closed higher by 152.70 points at 15,138.40 while Nifty increased by 89.82 points to close at 4,397.55. We expect the market to remain cautious during the trading session.

Friday, the US markets closed in red. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) decreased by 281.42 points to close at 13,191.91. The S&P 500 (SPX) index closed lower by 39.14 points at 1,433.06 while the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) decreased by 64.73 points to close at 2,511.25.

Indian ADRs ended in red. In technology sector, Wipro declined by 3.93% along with Satyam computers (3.26%), Infosys by 3.07% and Patni computers by (0.98%). In banking sector, HDFC Bank and ICICI bank decreased by (4.77%) and (3.49%) respectively. MTNL and VSNL closed lower by (7.49%) and (5.87%) respectively.

The major stock markets in Asia are trading weak. Japan''s Nikkei trading lower by 148.16 points at 16,831.70. Hang Seng declined by 476.06 to trade at 22,062.38. Taiwan weighted was trading in red at 8,895.20 down by 162.62 points. Singapore straits times slipped by 117.54 points to trade at 3,318.50.

Today, Nifty has support at 4,235 and resistance at 4,425 and BSE Sensex has support at 14,690 and resistance at 15,190.

End Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive note as it closed higher by 152.70 points at 15,138.40 while Nifty increased by 45.2 points to close at 4401.55. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap increased by 89.82 points and 86.08 points to close at 6,605.24 and 7,891.54 respectively. Of the 2,606 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,539 stocks advanced while 999 stocks declined.

BSE Capital goods index grew by 184.34 points to close at 12,976.28 as Siemens (3.79%), L&T (1.32%), BHEL (1.27%) and ABB (0.75%) closed in green.

BSE Metal index increased by 155.26 points to close at 11,324.63 as SAIL (3.34%), Tata steel (2%) and Hindalco industries (1.75%) closed higher while Nalco (0.28%) closed lower.

BSE oil & gas index advanced by 32.32 points at 7,808.34 as Reliance petroleum (3.14%), ONGC (1.15%), IOC (0.83%), GAIL (0.69%), HPCL (0.55%) and IPCL (0.15%) closed in green.

BSE bankex index closed higher by 101.71 points at 8,048.51 as SBI (2.72%), Canara bank (2.44%), HDFC (2.24%), ICICI bank (1.65%), Andhra bank (0.98%), Allahabad Bank (0.94%) and PNB (0.52%) closed higher.

BSE Health Care Index closed up by 12.97 points at 3,628.45 as Sun pharma (1.60%) and Glennmark (0.81%) closed in green while Ranbaxy labs (1.40%), Dr Reddy lab (1.28%) and Glaxosmithkline (0.36%) closed in red.

BSE FMCG index closed higher by 24.78 points at 1,957.11 as HUL (1.54%) and and ITC (0.95%) closed higher while Dabur (0.25%) closed lower.

Mid Market Commentary

The market is trading in strong as robust buying interest seen across the board. All the BSE sectorial indices are trading in green. Capital Goods, Realty, Metal and Bank stocks are the most demanding ones. The overall market breadth is positive as 1703 stocks are advancing while 637 stocks are declining and 60 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,189.90 up by 204.20 points while Nifty was at 4,413.50 up by 57.15 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 93.41 points at 6,608.83 and small cap advanced by 106.38 points to 7,911.84.

BSE Capital goods index surged 251.31 points to 13,043.25 as BHEL (2.12%), L&T (2.01%), ABB (1.93%) and Siemens (1.74%) are trading in positive.

BSE Metal index increased 210.60 points to trade at 11,379.97 as SAIL (3.47%), Hindalco (1.88%) and Tata Steel (1.72%) are trading in green while NALCO (0.39%) is trading in red.

Indian market is likely to have a positive opening as the Asian Market is trading higher and US market closed in green. On Thursday, the Indian markets ended on a positive note, as BSE Sensex closed higher by 49.93 points at 14,985.70 while Nifty increased by 10.5 points to close at 4,356.35. We expect the market to remain range bound during the trading session.

Thursday, the US markets closed in green. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) increased by 100.96 points to close at 13,463.33. The S&P 500 (SPX) index closed higher by 6.39 points at 1,472.20 while the NASDAQ Composite (RIXF) grew by 22.11 points to close at 2,575.98.

Indian ADRs ended in mixed. In technology sector, Satyam computers grew by (1.20%) along with Wipro by (0.69%) and Infosys by (0.61%) respectively while Patni computers decreased by (3.85%). In banking sector, HDFC Bank increased by (0.94%) while ICICI bank decreased by (0.07%). VSNL and MTNL closed lower by (2.09%) and (0.98%) respectively.

The major stock markets in Asia are trading firm. Japan''s Nikkei trading higher by 24.56 points at 17,008.67.Hang Seng grew by 121.63 to trade at 22,564.88. Taiwan weighted was trading up by 107.66 points at 9,058.23.
