The market is trading flat as profit booking was seen across the sectors led by IT and oil & gas. But the mid cap and the small cap are trading higher by 19.46 points and 15.08 points to 5885.71 and 7069.28 respectively. Overall market breadth is marginally strong.
At 12.24 pm, BSE sensex was at 14069.30 down by 8.91 points while Nifty was at 4154.55 up by 3.7 points. About 1220 stocks advanced while 1101 stocks declined and 91 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
BSE Metal index inclined 114.38 points to trade at 10129.78 as Hindalco (1.3%), Tata Steel (1.24%), SAIL (0.74%) and NALCO (0.06%) are trading higher.
BSE Banks index advanced 60.18 points to trade at 6994.30 as SBI (2.74%), HDFC Bank (0.74%), PNB (0.15%) are trading higher.
BSE capital goods index surged 20.33 points to trade at 10083.56 as Siemens (1.21%), BHEL (0.25%) and ABB (0.09%) are trading in green while L&T (0.38%) is trading in red.
BSE auto index rose 18.34 points to trade at 5089.29 as Tata Motors (1.27%), Bajaj Auto (1.16%) and Maruti Udyog (0.2%) are trading in green.
BSE Health Care index grew by 18.99 points to trade at 3764.02 as Cipla (2.39%), Dr. Reddy (0.8%), GSK (0.36%) are trading higher whereas Ranbaxy and Sun Pharma are trading lower.
BSE FMCG index increased 15.24 points to trade at 1826.33 as Dabur (1.45%) and HLL (1.05%) are trading in green while ITC (0.03%) is trading in red.
BSE Oil & gas index was trading 4.41 points down at 7333.37 as IPCL (1.09%), BPCL (0.04%) are trading in negative territory whereas GAIL (2.77%), ONGC (2.25%) and HPCL (2.16%) are trading in positive territory.
BSE IT index fell 15.58 points to trade at 5108.63 as Satyam (1.01%), HCL (0.79%), Wipro (0.53%) and Infosys (0.22%) are trading lower.
