Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is trading firm at higher level and remains range bound. The overall market breadth is strong as 1426 stocks are advancing while 866 stocks are declining and 79 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,519.61 up by 108.23 points and Nifty was at 4,278.80 up by 29.15 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 52.18 points at 6,243.79 and small cap advanced by 79.08 points to 7,428.64.

BSE Capital goods index surged 158.71 points to 11,238.14 as ABB (1.73%), L&T (1.4%) and Siemens (0.19%) are trading in green while BHEL (49.67%) is trading lower.

BSE Bank index advanced 83.33 points to trade at 7,588.55 as HDFC Bank (2.74%), SBI (1.84%), PNB (0.68%) and ICICI Bank (0.4%) are trading higher.

BSE Metal index inclined 66.67 points to trade at 10,411.34 as SAIL (1.11%), Hindalco (0.96%), Tata steel (0.5%) and NALCO (0.2%) are trading higher.

BSE Auto index grew 62.87 points to trade at 5,011.03 as Hero Honda (2.7%), Bajaj (2.17%), M&M (1.52%), are trading positively.

BSE IT index inclined 59.09 points to trade at 4,873.18 as Satyam (2.31%), Infosys (1.47%), Wipro (0.67%) and TCS (0.07%) are trading in green.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 28.81 points up at 7,784.39 as HPCL (1.74%), RPL (1.32%), and BPCL (1.1%) are trading in green whereas GAIL (0.37%) is trading in red.

BSE Health Care index inclined 23.08 points to trade at 3,850.46 as GSK (1.63%), Cipla (1.14%), Ranbaxy (0.95%) and Dr. Reddy (0.57%) are trading in positive.

BSE FMCG index inclined 9.59 points to trade at 1,890.91 as HLL (0.63%), ITC (0.49%) and Dabur (0.25%) are trading in green.
