The market is trading lower after positive opening as some selling is seen in the scrips led by Capital Goods, IT and Oil & Gas stocks. The overall market breadth is positive as 1179 stocks are advancing while 1173 stocks are declining and 89 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,528.08 down by 42.67 points and Nifty was at 4,280.35 down by 16.7 points. The BSE mid cap is lower by 5.86 points at 6,258.42 while small cap advanced by 12.14 points to 7,486.01.
BSE Metal index inclined 228.12 points to trade at 10,696.29 as Hindalco (5.85%), SAIL (0.79%) and NALCO (0.22%) are trading higher.
BSE Banks index advanced 29.47 points to trade at 7,712.11 as HDFC Bank (0.91%), SBI (0.80%) and PNB (0.09%) are trading higher.
BSE FMCG index inclined 19.96 points to trade at 1,910.49 as ITC (2.05%) and Dabur (1.94%) are trading in green.
BSE Health Care index inclined 9.34 points to trade at 3,861.77 as Dr. Reddy (0.87%), Ranbaxy (0.55%) are trading in positive while Sun Pharma (1.42%) and GSK (0.23%) are trading in negative.
BSE Capital goods index declined 32.99 points to 11,208.77 as BHEL (2.03%), ABB (0.67%), and L&T (0.35%) are trading in red while Siemens (0.94%) is trading in green.
BSE IT index declined 23.39 points to trade at 4,885.09 as Satyam (1.61%), HCL (1.29%), Infosys (0.60%) and TCS (0.06%) are trading in red.
BSE Auto index slipped 20.24 points to trade at 5,009.96 as Tata Motors (3.34%), Bajaj Auto (0.90%) and Maruti Udyog (0.03%) are trading in negative while M&M (0.64%) is trading in positive.
BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 15.68 points down at 7,763.88 as GAIL (3.09%), RPL (1.41%), HPCL (1.17%), ONGC (0.7%) and IPCL (0.19%) are trading in red.
