Mid Day Market Commentary

The market continued to trade higher since morning today on account of buying seen in the selective scrips. The Sensex has crossed its previous al time high of 14723.28. The overall market breadth is positive as 1481 stocks are advancing while 918 stocks are declining and 80 stocks remains unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,733.32 up by 82.81 points while Nifty was at 4,342.45 up by 24.15 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 72.59 points at 6,599.62 and small cap advanced by 81.15 points to 7,811.55.

BSE Capital goods index surged 256.46 points to 12,555.82 as ABB (3.56%), L&T (2.87%), BHEL (1.69%) and Siemens (0.43%) are trading in green.

BSE Metal index improved 85.09 points to trade at 10,690.09 as Tata Steel (1.01%) and Hindalco Industries (0.62%) are trading in positive while NALCO (1.15%) and SAIL (0.76%) are trading in negative.

BSE Auto index increased 59.28 points to trade at 4,798.85 as Maruti Udyog (4.84%), Tata Motors (1.94%) and M&M (1.66%) are trading in green while Bajaj Auto (0.61%) and Hero Honda (0.29%) are trading in red.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 35.59 points up at 7,662.25 as GAIL (0.65%), BPCL (0.59%) and ONGC (0.11%) are trading in green whereas IPCL (1.17%) and HPCL (0.74%) are trading in red.

BSE Health Care index grew 33.29 points to trade at 3,838.99 as Ranbaxy (1.97%), Cipla (1.92%), Sun Pharma (1.27%) and Dr. Reddy (0.76%) are trading in positive.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 5.52 points to trade at 8,015.46 as SBI (0.66%) and HDFC Bank (0.17%) are trading in positive while PNB (1.29%) and ICICI Bank (0.21%) are trading in negative.

BSE IT index dropped marginally 0.89 points to trade at 4,869.84 as HCL Tech. (0.58%), Wipro (0.39%) and Satyam (0.21%) are trading lower.

BSE FMCG index fell 2.98 points to trade at 1,826.35 as ITC (0.65%) is trading in negative whereas Dabur (0.97%) and HLL (0.08%) are trading in positive.
