Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is trading in the negative territory as the selling continued in the selective scrips led by IT scrips. The overall market breadth is positive as 1451 stocks are advancing while 1012 stocks are declining and 71 stocks remains unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,967 down by 43 points while Nifty was at 4,400.95 down by 5.1 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 45 points at 6,711 and small cap advanced by 73 points to 8,083.

BSE Metal index improved 103.32 points to trade at 11,045.70 as Tata steel (2.37%), SAIL (1.48%) and Hindalco (1.29%) are trading in positive.

BSE Capital goods index increased 96.36 points to 12,856.53 as BHEL (1.40%) and L&T (0.38%) are trading in green while Siemens (0.07%) is trading in red.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 28.74 points up at 7,644.70 as IPCL (0.88%) and GAIL (0.32%) are trading in positive whereas BPCL (0.30%) is trading in negative.

BSE Health Care index grew 4.48 points to trade at 3,848.23 as Sun Pharma (0.40%), GSK (0.32%) and Dr. Reddy (0.15%) are trading in positive.

BSE Auto index increased 3.01 points to trade at 4,948.85 as Bajaj Auto (1.22%) and M&M (0.25%) are trading in green while Maruti Udyog (0.86%) and Tata Motors (0.54%) is trading in red.

BSE IT index dropped 145.58 points to trade at 4,891.41 as Satyam (4.02%), Infosys (3.51%), Wipro (1.16%) and HCL Tech. (0.88%) are trading in red.BSE FMCG index dropped 6.06 points to trade at 1,833.02 as Dabur (1.89%) and ITC (1.30%) are trading in negative.

BSE Banks index is trading down by 4.58 points to trade at 8,099.51 as PNB (0.74%), ICICI Bank (0.62%) and SBI (0.26%) are trading in positive while HDFC (0.26%) is trading in negative.
