Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is now trading higher as the strong buying continued in the metal, capital goods, oil & gas and bank index. The BSE Sensex touched an all time high at 15,322.04. The overall market breadth is positive as 1390 stocks are advancing while 1156 stocks are declining and 72 stocks remains unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,314.94 up by 222.90 points while Nifty was at 4,503.60 up by 57.45 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 49.72 points at 6,832.41 and small cap advanced by 67.01 points to 8,282.57.

BSE Metal index improved 346.84 points to trade at 11,822.10 as Hindalco (6.71%), SAIL (2.76%), NALCO (1.80%) and Tata Steel (1.19%) are trading in positive.

BSE Capital goods index surged 254.52 points to 13,195.31 as BHEL (3.53%), L&T (1.98%), ABB (1.70%) and Siemens (1.10%) are trading in green.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 136.36 points up at 7,818.55 as IPCL (2.34%), GAIL (1.9%), BPCL (1.51%), ONGC (1.02%) and RPL (0.85%) are trading in positive.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 91.13 points to trade at 8,306.64 as ICICI Bank (1.14%), HDFC Bank (0.75%), PNB (0.74%) and SBI (0.71%) are trading in positive.

BSE Auto index increased 50.76 points to trade at 5,057.31 as Tata Motors (2.03%), M&M (1.62%), Bajaj Auto (0.96%), Maruti Udyog (0.60%) and Hero Honda (0.59%) are trading in green.

BSE IT index improved 19.55 points to trade at 4,889.61 as Infosys (0.94%) and Satyam (0.63%) are trading in green whereas TCS (1.98%) and Wipro (0.78%) are trading in red.

BSE FMCG index increased 9.16 points to trade at 1,866.53 as ITC (1.96%) is trading in positive while Dabur (1.90%) and HUL (1.46%) are trading in negative.

BSE Health Care index grew 2.82 points to trade at 3,871.11 as Sun Pharma (1.10%) is trading in positive while Ranbaxy (0.56%), GSK (0.47%) and Dr. Reddy (0.44%) are trading in negative.
