Mid Market Commentary

The market is now trading firm as the significant buying momentum was seen in the Capital Goods, Metal and Oil & Gas stocks. However the realty stocks are facing the most selling tune. The overall market breadth is not impressive as 798 stocks are advancing while 1651 stocks are declining and 41 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,158.27 up by 169.16 points while Nifty was at 4,128.40 up by 53.50 points. The BSE mid cap is lower by 7.13 points at 6,127.10 and small cap dropped by 49.79 points to 7,488.66.

BSE Capital goods index surged 145.45 points to 12,135.42 as Siemens (6.48%), BHEL (2.96%), ABB (1.41%) and L&T (1.34%) are trading in positive.

BSE Metal index advanced 118.63 points to trade at 9,965.78 as Tata Steel (3.30%), Sterlite Industries (2.39%) and Hindalco Industries (1.47%) are trading in green.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 91.41 points higher at 7,499.43 as IPCL (2.02%), ONGC (1.52%), GAIL (1.39%), BPCL (1%) and HPCL (0.88%) are trading in positive.

BSE FMCG index grew 38.42 points to trade at 1,837.47 as ITC (4.61%) and HUL (1.55%) are trading in green while Dabur (0.05%) is trading in red.

BSE IT index increased 16.57 points to trade at 4,311.43 as Infosys (0.91%), Satyam (0.72%), Wipro (0.22%) are trading up while HCL Tech. (0.69%) is trading down.

BSE Auto index improved 9.88 points to trade at 4,485.02 as M&M (2.11%), Maruti Udyog (1.43%), Hero Honda (1.11%) and Bajaj Auto (0.37%) are trading higher while Tata Motors (1.1%) is trading lower.

BSE Health Care index dropped 36.44 points to trade at 3,393.98 as Cipla (4.49%), GSK (1.93%) and Dr. Reddy (0.32%), are trading lower whereas Sun Pharma (0.53%) and Ranbaxy (0.28%) are trading higher.

BSE Banks index is trading down by 35.41 points to trade at 7,288.89 as PNB (2.09%) is trading in negative while ICICI Bank (0.60%), HDFC Bank (0.27%) and SBI (0.07%) are trading in positive.
