Mid Market Commentary

The market is still trading higher on the back of sustained buying continued in the selective scrips mainly led by the Metal stocks. However the Consumer Durables and IT stocks are facing some selling tune. The overall market breadth is impressive as 1283 stocks are advancing while 1104 stocks are declining and 71 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,260.34 up by 96.36 points while Nifty was at 4,141.40 up by 26.45 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 35.35 points at 6,140.46 and small cap advanced by 31.18 points to 7,455.57.

BSE Metal index surged 166.25 points to trade at 10,158.65 as Tata steel (2.32%), Hindalco Industries (2.16%), Sterlite Industries (1.23%), Nalco (1.18%) and SAIL (0.71%) are trading in green.

BSE Capital goods index improved 94.23 points to 12,430.90 as ABB (1.08%), BHEL (0.60%), and L&T (0.46%) are trading in positive while Siemens (0.08%) is trading in negative.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 74.08 points higher at 7,459.23 as ONGC (1.28%), IPCL (1.16%), RPL (0.93%) and GAIL (0.34%) are trading in positive.

BSE Auto index improved 65.72 points to trade at 4,529.18 as Tata Motors (3.54%), Maruti Udyog (2.58%), M&M (2.41%) and Bajaj Auto (0.54%) are trading higher.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 43.83 points to trade at 7,268.12 as SBI (2.33%) and ICICI Bank (0.36%) are trading in positive while HDFC Bank (1.64%) and PNB (0.67%) are trading in negative.

BSE Health Care index increased 16.29 points to trade at 3,402.89 as Ranbaxy (1.15%), Cipla (0.60%) and GSK (0.18%) are trading higher while Sun Pharma (0.44%) and Dr. Reddy (0.16%) are trading lower.

BSE FMCG index grew 9.47 points to trade at 1,871.86 as ITC (1.25%) and HUL (0.51%) are trading in green while Dabur (0.99%) is trading in red.

BSE IT index decreased 3.25 points to trade at 4,353.03 as HCL Technologies (2.14%), Infosys (1.05%) and Wipro (0.22%) are trading up while Satyam (0.95%) and TCS (0.30%) are trading down.
