Mid Market Commentary

The market has maintained its upward trend and is still trading higher on the back of sustained buying continued in the selective scrips mainly led by the Capital Goods, Metal and Realty stocks. The overall market breadth is still impressive as 1890 stocks are advancing while 525 stocks are declining and 49 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,684.07 up by 259.20 points while Nifty was at 4,259.60 up by 69.45 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 123.64 points at 6,314.09 and small cap advanced by 180.13 points to 7,702.38.

BSE Capital goods index improved 260.98 points to 12,883.21 as L&T (2.04%), Siemens (1.83%), ABB (1.52%) and BHEL (1.43%) are trading in positive.

BSE Metal index surged 257.53 points to trade at 10,534.13 as Sterlite Industries (2.60%), Tata Steel (2.40%), SAIL (1.37%) and Nalco (0.79%) are trading in green.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 206.39 points to trade at 7,521.82 as SBI (4.91%), ICICI Bank (3.72%), PNB (2%) and HDFC Bank (0.91%) are trading in positive.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 142.34 points higher at 7,659.02 as IPCL (1.98%), ONGC (1.61%), BPCL (1%), RPL (0.91%) and HPCL (0.87%) are trading in positive.

BSE Auto index improved 81.60 points to trade at 4,650.86 as Maruti Udyog (2.91%), Tata Motors (2.44%), M&M (2.34%), Bajaj Auto (1.52%) and Hero Honda (0.31%) are trading higher.

BSE Health Care index increased 47.82 points to trade at 3,471.84 as Cipla (1.76%), Ranbaxy (1.66%), GSK (0.99%), Sun Pharma (0.78%) and Dr. Reddy (0.16%) are trading higher.

BSE IT index increased 25.28 points to trade at 4,433.76 as HCL Technologies (1.81%), TCS (0.59%), Satyam (0.23%) and Infosys (0.05%) are trading up.

BSE FMCG index grew 15.99 points to trade at 1,893.96 as Dabur (1%), ITC (0.62%) and HUL (0.50%) are trading in green.
