Mid Market Commentary

The market has gained more points and inched higher after a silent start to the session. The strong buying continued in the Capital Goods, Oil & Gas and Bank stocks. The overall market breadth is positive as 1597 stocks are advancing while 951 stocks are declining and 75 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,558.98 up by 112.83 points while Nifty was at 4,502.55 up by 26.70 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 58.11 points at 6,831.45 and small cap advanced by 74.14 points to 8,363.95.

BSE Capital goods index improved 104.01 points to 13,670.72 as Siemens (2.07%), BHEL (0.74%), L&T (0.50%) and ABB (0.25%) are trading up.

BSE Auto index enhanced 59.55 points to trade at 4,936.51 as Tata Motors (1.86%), Bajaj Auto (1.69%), Hero Honda Motors (1.57%), M&M (0.98%) and Maruti Udyog (0.69%) are trading in green.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 50.86 points to trade at 8,069.28 as SBI (0.94%), PNB (0.82%), HDFC Bank (0.34%) and ICICI Bank (0.33%) are trading in green.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 47.71 points higher at 8,189.30 as ONGC (0.84%), RPL (0.82%), GAIL (0.32%) and IPCL (0.26%) are trading in positive while HPCL (0.42%) and BPCL (0.25%) are trading in negative.

BSE Health Care index increased 15.53 points to trade at 3,714.22 as Ranbaxy (2.50%), Dr. Reddy (0.61%) and Cipla (0.55%) are trading in green whereas GSK (0.70%) and Sun Pharma (0.41%) are trading in red.

BSE Metal index advanced 8.62 points to trade at 11,607.21 as SAIL (1.21%), TATA Steel (1.03%) and Sterlite Industries (0.58%) are trading higher while Hindalco Industries (1.50%) is trading lower.

BSE FMCG index increased 14.68 points to trade at 2,015.89 as HUL (2.36%) and ITC (0.26%) are trading higher while Dabur (0.59%) is trading lower.

BSE IT index advanced by 4.82 points to trade at 4,651.11 as HCL Tech. (0.64%), Satyam (0.45%) and Infosys (0.32%) are trading up while Wipro (0.42%) and TCS (0.19%) are trading down.
