Mid Market Commentary

The market has recovered from the day''s lows but is still trading in negative territory. The buying is seen in the Capital Goods, Oil & Gas and FMCG stocks. The BSE mid cap is higher by 19.61 points at 6,871.26 and small cap advanced by 60.79 points to 8,494.31.

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,559.05 down by 31.37 points while Nifty was at 4,494.35 down by 15.15 points. The overall market breadth is positive as 1466 stocks are advancing while 1066 stocks are declining on BSE.

BSE Capital goods index improved 65.17 points to 13,678.41 as ABB (1.83%), BHEL (0.58%), Siemens (0.13%) and L&T (0.08%) are trading up.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 39.41 points higher at 8,225.18 as IPCL (1.81%), HPCL (1.29%), BPCL (0.99%) and RPL (0.81%) are trading in positive while ONGC (2.47%) and GAIL (0.64%) are trading in negative.

BSE FMCG index increased 26.76 points to trade at 2,073.39 as ITC (3.37%) and Nestle (0.38%) are trading higher while HUL (0.91%) and Dabur (0.55%) are trading lower.

BSE Health Care index increased 7.93 points to trade at 3,713.61 as GSK (0.44%) and Ranbaxy (0.24%) are trading in green while Cipla (1.10%), Dr. Reddy (1.05%) and Sun Pharma (0.69%) are trading in red.

BSE IT index slipped by 70.94 points to trade at 4,588.76 as HCL Tech. (4.35%), Wipro (1.88%), TCS (1.86%), Infosys (1.57%) and Satyam (1.56%) are trading down.

BSE Banks index is trading down by 65.17 points to trade at 13,678.41 as HDFC Bank (1.59%), ICICI Bank (1.09%), PNB (0.41%) and SBI (0.06%) are trading in red.

BSE Metal index dropped 21.06 points to trade at 11,588.02 as JSW steel (2.39%), Sterlite industries (1.63%) and Hindalco Industries (1.34%) are trading lower while SAIL (1.58%) and NALCO (0.37%) are trading higher.

BSE Auto index dropped 11.92 points to trade at 4,877.91 as Mahindra & Mahindra (1.70%), Hero Honda Motors (1.35%) and Tata Motors (0.29%) are trading in red while Bajaj Auto (0.56%) trading in green.
