Mid Market Commentary

The market is trading higher but range bound. The Realty, Bankex and Capital Goods stocks are attracting significant attention while the FMCG and IT stocks are facing some selling pressures.However the broader market has outperformed the benchmark indices as the BSE mid cap is higher by 43.57 points at 6,933.12 and small cap advanced by 68.33 points to 8,640.68. The overall market breadth is positive as 1595 stocks are advancing while 892 stocks are declining on BSE

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,562.76 up by 57.40 points while Nifty was at 4,514.10 up by 17.25 points.

BSE Banks index surged by 90.63 points to trade at 8,070.40 as SBI (2.40%), HDFC Bank (1.95%), PNB (0.82%), Kotak Bank (0.57%), ICICI Bank (0.34%), are trading in green.

BSE Capital goods index improved 83.31 points to 13,747.49 as Siemens (0.55%), ABB (0.25%) and L&T (0.12%) are trading up while BHEL (0.06%) is trading down.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 39.03 points higher at 8,360.18 as BPCL (1.29%), HPCL (0.83%), RPL (0.81%), IPCL (0.76%), ONGC (0.48%) and GAIL (0.32%) are trading in positive

BSE Auto index grew 36.94 points to trade at 4,912.72 as Maruti Udyog (1.51%), Tata Motors (1.02%), Bajaj Auto (0.92%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.86%) and Hero Honda Motors (0.76%) are trading in positive.

BSE Health Care index increased 10.30 points to trade at 3,694.86 as Cipla (0.57%), Dr. Reddy (0.55%) and Glenmark Pharmaceutical (0.87%) are trading in green

BSE IT index increased marginally by 3.39 points to trade at 4,467.17 as I-flex (0.59%), Wipro (0.10%) and Satyam (0.19%) are trading up while Infosys (0.60%), TCS (0.26%) and HCL Technologies (0.25%) are trading up.

BSE Metal index dropped 4.74 points to trade at 11,913.54 as SAIL (1.14%), NALCO (0.74%), Sterlite Industries (0.64%) and Tata Steel (0.14%) are trading lower.

BSE FMCG index decreased 10.95 points to trade at 2,070.98 as Nestle (1.34%) and Dabur (0.53%) are trading higher while HUL (1.24%) and ITC (0.50%) are trading lower.
