Mid Market Commentary

The market has gained further ground and is trading higher backed by the strong buying momentum seen across the board. The Metal, Realty, Bankex and Capital Goods stocks are in demand today. The overall market breadth is positive as 1595 stocks are advancing while 892 stocks are declining on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,789 up by 175 points while Nifty was at 4,572.75 up by 43.80 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 42 points at 6,989 and small cap advanced by 67 points to 8,705.

BSE Metal index grew 199.28 points to trade at 12,123.91 as JSW Steel (2.58%), SAIL (2.33%), Sterlite Industries (2.23%), Tata Steel (1.70%) and Hindalco Industries (1.33%) are trading higher.

BSE Banks index surged by 195.90 points to trade at 8,277.84 as ICICI Bank (3.62%), HDFC Bank (2.22%), Kotak Bank (1.88%), PNB (1.41%), SBI (1.19%) and IDBI Bank (0.26%) are trading in green.

BSE Capital goods index improved 153.91 points to 13,877.79 as L&T (1.91%), ABB (0.90%), BHEL (0.26%) and Siemens (0.16%) are trading up.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 137.90 points higher at 8,516.67 as IPCL (2%), RPL (1.54%), ONGC (1.08%), BPCL (0.96%), HPCL (0.41%) and GAIL (0.32%) are trading in positive.

BSE IT index enhanced by 33.55 points to trade at 4,516.12 as Satyam (0.92%), Infosys (0.87%) and Wipro (0.22%) are trading up while HCL Tech. (0.35%) and TCS (0.19%) are trading down.

BSE Auto index grew 15.70 points to trade at 4,955.04 as Ashok Leyland (0.94%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.56%), Tata Motors (0.43%), Bajaj Auto (0.29%) and Hero Honda (0.21%) are trading in positive.

BSE Health Care index increased 15.09 points to trade at 3,708.97 as Dr. Reddy (1.40%), GSK (0.88%), Cipla (0.57%) and Ranbaxy (0.24%) are trading in green

BSE FMCG index increased 17.25 points to trade at 2,088.04 as ITC (1.37%), Dabur (0.94%) and Nestle (0.11%) are trading higher while HUL (0.56%) is trading lower.
