Mid Session Market Commentary

The market is still trading higher with handsome gains on the back of strong global cues. The bulls are being the front-runner from the opening bell today. The investors are showing strong buying momentum across the board. All the BSE Sensex indices are trading in green. The Metal, Bank, Oil & Gas and Realty stocks are in demand today.
The overall market breadth is strong as 1736 stocks are advancing while 920 stocks are declining and 76 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 16,205.48 up by 536.36 points while Nifty was at 4,702.05 up by 155.85 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 106.12 points at 7,091.15 and small cap advanced by 116.14 points to8,897.03.
BSE Metal index surged 350.07 points to trade at 12,435.19 as Sterlite Industries (5.38%), SAIL (4.65%), Tata Steel (3.66%), JSW Steel (2.31%), Hindalco Industries (1.29%) are trading higher.
BSE Banks index advanced by 327.83 points to trade at 8,618.37 as HDFC Bank (5.44%), SBI (4.01%), ICICI Bank (3.89%), PNB (3.25%), IDBI Bank (3.22%) are trading in green.
BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 280.66 points higher at 8,779.48 as ONGC (6.11%), GAIL (5.86%), IPCL (2.94%), RPL (2.29%), Essar Oil (0.67%) are trading in positive.
BSE Capital goods index improved 206.49 points to 14,069.52 as BHEL (2.21%), ABB (1.95%), Siemens (1.48%) and L&T (1.03%) are trading up.
BSE Auto index advanced 173.06 points to trade at 5,095.70 as Maruti Udyog (5.83%), Tata Motors (4.45%), Mahindra & Mahindra (4.37%), Bajaj Auto (3.24%), Hero Honda Motors (2.66%) are trading in positive.
BSE FMCG index increased 23.27 points to trade at 2,121.23 as ITC (1.67%), HUL (0.93%) and Dabur (0.32%) are trading higher.
BSE Health Care index grew 42.08 points to trade at 3,703.69 as Glenmark Pharma (4.74%), Sun Pharma (2.22%), Cipla (1.18%), Ranbaxy (0.98%), GSK (0.92%) are trading in green.
BSE IT index enhanced by 107.03 points to trade at 4,492.44 as Infosys (2.66%), Satyam (2.13%), TCS (1.80%), Wipro (1.35%), HCL Tech. (0.71%) are trading up.
