Mid Session Market

The market is trading with marginal gain on the back of selective buying witnessed among the selective scrips mainly led by the Metal, Consumer Durables, Realty stocks. However the IT stocks are still facing the selling pressure. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap however outperformed the benchmark index today. The overall market breadth remains positive, as 2453 stocks are advancing while 403 stocks are declining and the 14 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

The BSE Mid cap is higher by 175.49 points at 9,964.98 and the BSE small Cap advanced by 428.79 points to trade at 13,777.16.

At 12.31 pm, BSE Sensex was at 20,354.34 up by 67.35 points whereas Nifty was at 6,153.70 up by 15.10 points.

BSE Metal index surged 230.34 points to trade at 20,250.56. The major gainers are NALCO (2.27%), Tata Steel (0.96%), Sterlite Industries (0.48%) and SAIL (0.35%).

BSE FMCG index increased 67.43 points to trade at 2,387.35 as ITC (4.30%), HUL (3.55%), Dabur (3.33%) and Godrej Consumer (2.21%) are trading in green.

BSE Capital goods index advanced 60.35 points to 19,815.74. The main gainers are Praj Industries (3.73%), Areva (1.96%), Thermax (1.44%) and Siemens (1.40%).

BSE Power index inclined by 51.46 points to trade at 4,600.31 as Reliance Energy (3.31%), Tata Power (2.79%), Torent Power (2.37%), Suzlon Energy (2.08%) and GVK Power (1.72%) are trading higher.

BSE Auto index increased by 48.49 points to trade at 5,715.94. Leading to its gain are Tata Motors (1.08%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.81%) and Hero Honda (0.72%).

BSE Banks index advanced by 31.26 points to trade at 11,449.26. The major gainers are Canara Bank (4.79%), Bank of Baroda (3.11%), Indian Overseas (1.85%) and Union Bank (1.45%).

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 30.56 points higher at 13,332.16 as Essar Oil (5.84%), Gail India (1.89%), ONGC (0.69%) and RPL (0.38%) are trading in green.
