Mid Session Market

The market is now off the day''s high and slipped down to trade in the negative territory. The strong selling continues in the Mid Cap and Small Cap stocks. The Capital goods, Realty, Bank and Consumer Durables stocks are in heavy pressure today as significant selling witnessed in these stocks. The overall market breadth turns negative, as 736 stocks are advancing while 1,828 stocks are declining on BSE.

The BSE Mid cap is lower by 90 points at 7,677 and the BSE small Cap slipped by 158 points to trade at 9,966.

At 12.32 pm, BSE Sensex was at 17,703 up by 54 points and Nifty was at 5,162.05 up by 24.60 points.

BSE IT index inclined by 82.47 points to trade at 3,792.58 as Satyam (4.84%), TCS (4.77%), Infosys Technologies (2.93%) and Tech Mahindra (1.65%) are trading in green.

BSE Metal index inclined by 64.45 points to trade at 15,377.37. The major gainers are Sterlite Industries (3.20%), JSW Steel (2.92%), Sesa Goa (1.64%) and Tata Steel (1.57%).

BSE Auto index increased by 14.82 points to trade at 4,847.30. Leading to its gain are Hero Honda (4.29%), Tata Motors (3.80%), Bajaj Auto (0.91%) while TVS Motors (1.11%) are trading lower.Tata Motors is all set to make its debut into US markets. It is looking at bottom up strategy by taking not its car but also its mini truck ACE to US.

BSE Capital goods index dropped by 217.69 points to 16,170.01. The main losers are Punj Lloyd (8.08%), Siemens (4.59%), ABB (2.52%) and BHEL (0.78%).

BSE Banks index declined by 83.91 points to trade at 10,630. The top losers are HDFC Bank (4.72%), Oriental Bank (3.54%), Kotak Bank (3.18%) and AXIS Bank (3.58%) are trading lower.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 19.66 points lower at 10,685.54 as Gail India (4.44%), ABN Offshore (3.54%), HPCL (1.66%), BPCL (1.25%) and Reliance (1.25%) are trading in red.

BSE Power index fell by 35.80 points to trade at 3,705.47 as Crompton Greaves (6.16%), GVK Power (5.86%), Reliance Energy (2.59%) and GMR Infrastructure (2.07%) are trading in red.
