Mid Session Market

The market is seeing some selling pressure in the frontline indices. The heave selling witnessed in the selective scrips mainly led by the stocks like Bank, Auto and Metal. However the broader market is trading firm from the opening level and is trading higher. As a result, the overall market breadth remains extremely positive, as 1,758 stocks are advancing while 863 stocks are declining and the 47 stocks remained unchanged on BSE. The BSE Mid cap is higher by 58.83 points at 8,063.74 and the BSE small Cap advanced by 92.69 points to trade at 10,454.47.

At 12.32 pm, BSE Sensex was at 18,596.14 down by 64.18 points and Nifty was at 5,454.70 down by 8.80 points.

BSE Health Care index inclined by 39.20 points to trade at 3,746.26 as Ranbaxy Lab. (2.92%), GSK (3.37%), Glenmark (2.64%), Biocon (0.96%) and Dr. Reddy (0.55%) are trading higher.

BSE Capital goods index advanced by 32.30 points to 16,829.51. The main gainers are Punj Lloyd (1.07%), L&T (0.57%), Siemens (0.61%) and Thermax (0.62%).

BSE Metal index dropped by 108.45 points to trade at 16,329.74. The major losers are Tata Steel (2.62%), Sterlite Industries (2.12%), SAIL (1.74%) and Hindalco Industries (1.12%).

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 16.29 points lower at 11,277.07 as GAIL (1.73%), Essar Oil (1.60%), RPL (0.87%), Cairn (0.26%) and RNRL (0.07%) are trading in red.BPCL may hive of its bio-diesel business into separate company and it is looking at entering the entire chain of bio diesel production.

BSE Banks index slipped by 135.81 points to trade at 10,975.10. The top losers are AXIX Bank (2.66%), Kotak Bank (2.36%), Union Bank (2.19%) and ICICI Bank (1.60%) are trading lower.BSE IT index declined by 82.17 points to trade at 4,015.44 as Infosys (2.53%), Satyam (2.12%), Wipro (2.06%) and Tech Mahindra (1.10%) are trading in red.

BSE Auto index decreased by 65.96 points to trade at 5,041.74. Leading to its fall are Hero Honda (4.24%), Tata Motors (2.72%), Bajaj Auto (1.79%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (1.34%).
