Mid Session Market

The market is still trading lower as strong selling continued across the board. The strong selling is seen in the Metal, Capital Goods, Realty and Oil & Gas stocks. The broader market is also trading lower as significant selling witnessed in the Mid Cap and Small Cap stocks. As a result, the overall market breadth remains extremely negative, as 971 stocks are advancing while 1622 stocks are declining on BSE. The BSE Mid cap is lower by 152.21 points at 7,919.08 and the BSE small Cap slipped by 138.09 points to trade at 10,328.69.

At 12.32 pm, BSE Sensex was at 18,031.43 down by 631.73 points and Nifty was at 5,288.85 down by 195.05 points.

BSE Metal index dropped by 638.65 points to trade at 16,155.16. The major losers are NALCO (6.05%), Sterlite Industries (5.73%), Hindalco Industries (4.95%) and SAIL (4.72%).

BSE Capital goods index slipped by 321.65 points to 16,599.72. The main losers are Siemens (2.65%), BHEL (2.40%), L&T (2.15%) and ABB (0.70%).

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 338.78 points lower at 11,076.71 as ONGC (3.35%), RPL (2.82%), Cairn India (2.82%), BPCL (2.32%) and GAIL (1.18%) are trading in red.

BSE Banks index slipped by 261.41 points to trade at 10,676.19. The top losers are ICICI Bank (3.27%), PNB (3.17%), SBI (2.96%) and HDFC Bank (1.79%).

BSE IT index declined by 188.86 points to trade at 4,015.44 as Wipro (6.80%), Satyam (5.94%), Infosys Technologies (5.66%), TCS (5.34%) and HCL Technologies (5.05%) are trading in red.

BSE Auto index decreased by 130.95 points to trade at 4,893.72. Leading to its fall are Maruti Suzuki (4.12%), Tata Motors (3.85%), Bajaj Auto (2.82%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (2.35%).

BSE Health Care index declined by 70.26 points to trade at 3,699.19 as Ranbaxy Lab. (4.12%), Sun Pharma (4%), GSK Pharma (2.81%), Dr.Reddy (2.57%) and Cipla (1.47%) are trading in negative.
