Mid Session Market

The market continues to further momentum and is trading significantly higher as strong buying is seen in the frontline indices. The FMCG, IT, OIL & Gas and Bank stocks are the hot performers of the day. The Mid Cap and Small Cap stocks are also trading in the positive zone. On the global market point of view, Asian markets are trading with strong gains.

The overall market breadth is positive, as 1269 stocks are advancing while 1062 stocks are declining and the 71 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

On the primary market front, Sita Shree Food Products has got listed on the bourses today at Rs.37 as against the issue price of Rs.30. It was placed in the B group of shares on BSE.

The BSE Mid cap is higher by 55.26 points at 6,318.11 and the BSE small Cap advanced by 26.79 points to trade at 7,741.78.

At 12.50 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,696.82 up by 353.70 points and Nifty was at 4,755.25 up by 108.25 points.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 262 points higher at 10,544.64 as ONGC (3.18%), BPCL (2.72%), Gail India (2.35%) and Cairn India (2.21%) are trading in green.

BSE Health Care index inclined by 69.52 points to trade at 3,915.35 as Ranbaxy Laboratories (5.51%), Sun Pharma (2.28%), Pfizer (2.79%), Glenmark Pharma (1.68%) and Dr. Reddy (1.64%) are trading in positive.

BSE Capital goods index advanced by 113.34 points to 12,733.69. The main gainers are Siemens (2.15%), Praj Industries (1.48%), L&T (1.17%) and Bharat Electrical (0.95%).

BSE Banks index improved by 173.31 points to trade at 7,763.27. The top gainers are ICICI Bank (3.92%), SBI (2.43%), HDFC Bank (1%) and PNB (0.61%).

BSE Power index increased by 27.60 points to trade at 2,991.68 as Suzlon Energy (4.66%), Tata Power (2.74%), Reliance Power (2.39%) and NTPC (1.87%) are trading in positive.

BSE IT index grew by 118.48 points to trade at 3,805.88 as Wipro (5.54%), TCS (4.93%), Satyam Computers (3.53%) and Infosys Technologies (2.69%) are trading in green.

Wipro and I-Flex solutions has signed an agreement to market its products in the Middle East. As per this agreement, Wipro will also implement and support I-Flex solutions including core banking product suite Flexcube in the region. Also the company is expanding its special economic zone in Chennai over the next three years and this was as a part of expanding its footprint in various key verticals like pharma, retail, automotive, life sciences and financial services.

Tata Consultancy Services has made a multi-year pact with Chrysler LLC to provide a comprehensive portfolio of the IT services. As per this contract, the company will deliver IT application and maintenance support devices to Chrysler by leveraging its Global Network Delivery Model from various locations. Also, the company will invest Rs900 crore in Pune to create capacity of 20,000 seats over the next three years. The company has started the construction of its largest development centre at the TCS Sahyadri Park in Pune.

BSE Auto index inclined by 34.64 points to trade at 4,413.18. Leading to its gain are Mahindra & Mahindra (2.60%), Tata Motors (1.85%), TVS Motors (1.52%) and Ashok Leyland (1.74%).

BSE Metal index advanced by 157.29 points to trade at 13,597.64. The major gainers are Gujarat NRE (11.39%), NALCO (3.04%), Sterlite Industries (2.51%) and Jindal Saw 11.93%).
