The market is now trading flat and off the day’s high after giving up most of its early gains> the significant buying support is seen in the Capital Goods, Power, Bank and Metal stocks. However, the FMCG, Realty and Auto stocks are still under pressure. The broader market has outperformed the benchmark index and is trading significantly higher.
The overall market breadth is positive, as 1582 stocks are advancing while 798 stocks are declining and the 73 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
The BSE Mid cap is higher by 58.52 points at 6,441.54 and the BSE small Cap advanced by 91.05 points to trade at 7,905.22.
At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,608.46 up by 20.84 points and Nifty was at 4,706.40 down by 3.25 points.
BSE Capital goods index surged by 238.19 points to 12,767.03. The main gainers are Siemens (2.42%), ABB (2.34%), BHEL (2.04%) and L&T (1.51%).
BHEL and Reliance industries are in talks to form a joint venture for setting up of solar fab units. The proposed joint venture is likely to enter into the manufacturing of other small and medium equipment for solar power apart from the solar photo voltaic (SPV) cells. Both the partners have not finalized the financial and technical details for the proposed joint venture.
BSE Metal index advanced by 136.36 points to trade at 13,680.94. The major gainers are Tata Steel (1.45%), Ispat Industries (1.23%), Bhusan Steel (1.43%) and Jindal Saw (0.23%).
BSE Banks index improved by 67.15 points to trade at 8,019.96. The top gainers are Kotak Bank (2.32%), Bank of India (2.40%), Federal Bank (2.25%) and Bank of Baroda (1.73%).
BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 32.35 points higher at 10,495.22 as RPL (1.42%), RNRL (0.94%), Indian Oil (0.78%) and Essar Oil (0.42%) are trading in green.
BSE Health Care index inclined by 1.30 points to trade at 3,937.33 as Divi’s Lab (3.65%), Cadila Healthcare (3.88%), Cipla (1.20%), Glaxosmith (0.85%) and Lupin (0.85%) are trading in positive.
BSE Power index increased by 42.62 points to trade at 3,048.10 as Tata Power (1.42%), Reliance Power (1.12%), GVK Power (0.89%) and Suzlon Energy (0.71%) are trading in positive.
Tata Power in order to meet the requirements of Hooghly Met Coke & Power plants is going to set up a 30mw gas based power plant in Haldia.
BSE IT index grew by 16.91 points to trade at 3,701.98 as Infosys Technologies (0.94%), I-Flex (0.89%), Tech Mahindra (0.71%) and Mphasis (0.20%) are trading in green.
BSE Auto index declined by 7.07 points to trade at 4,408.30. Leading to its fall are Maruti Suzuki (1.77%), Hero Honda (1.14%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.55%) and Tata Motors (0.14%).
BSE Realty index dropped by 47.21 points to trade at 7,363.01. Leading to its fall are India Bull Real (3.64%), HDIL (2.56%), Sobha Developers (0.71%) and Parsavnath (0.45%).
