The market has managed to trade higher as significant buying continued in the selective scrip. The strong buying witnessed in the Realty, Capital Goods, Bank and Metal stocks. However, the Auto and Consumer Durables stocks are still under pressure as some selling witnessed in these stocks. The Mid Cap and Small Cap stocks have maintained their opening gains and are trading in line with the benchmark index.
The overall market breadth is positive, as 2109 stocks are advancing while 432 stocks are declining and the 35 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
The BSE Mid cap is higher by 121.14 points at 7,358.61 and the BSE small Cap advanced by 107.03 points to trade at 8,928.74.
At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 17,704.66 up by 104.54 points and Nifty was at 5,245 up by 16.80 points.
BSE IT index grew by 12.59 points to trade at 4,371.17 as HCL Technologies (3.62%), Satyam Computer (3.18%), Wipro (3.08%) and TCS (2.44%) are trading in green.
BSE Capital goods index surged by 240.48 points to 14,485.35. The main gainers are L&T (3.16%), Siemens (1.70%) and BHEL (0.93%).
BSE Power index inclined by 36.47 points to trade at 3,439.46 as Reliance Energy (2.83%), Suzlon Energy (2.46%), Power Grid (0.94%) and Tata Power (0.78%) are trading in positive.
BSE Health Care index increased by 33.79 points to trade at 4,323.10 as Cipla (0.49%), Dr.Reddy (0.35%) and Ranbaxy Lab. (0.01%) are trading in positive.
BSE Realty trading up by 243.48 points at 8,962.17. Pushing it are Mahindralife trading higher by 7.25% at Rs589 along with Indbull Real by 5.58% at Rs597.20, Unitech by 4.64% at Rs332.90, Purvankara by 4.18% at Rs307.90, Parsvnath by 3.03% at Rs243.15.
BSE Bankex index is trading higher by 122.99 points at 9,265.17. Gainers are Allahabad bank trading up by 92.35 in line with Kotak bank by 4.90% at Rs862, Yes bank by 4.70% at Rs182.70, Andhra bank by 3.50% at Rs82.85, Canara bank by 3.38% at Rs249.25, Karnataka bank by 2.50% at Rs215.15, BOB by 2.16% at Rs327.
BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 106.05 points lower at 11,611.84 as BPCL (1.12%), RPL (1.09%), ONGC (0.62%) and Gail India (0.58%) are trading in green.
BSE Metal index advanced by 150.50 points to trade at 16,013.67. The major gainers are Tata Steel (1.84%), SAIL (1.58%) and Sterlite Industries (0.84%).
BSE Auto index slipped by 9.12 points to trade at 4,852.03 as Hero Honda (2.18%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.06%) and Tata Motors (0.49%) are trading in negative.
