Mid Session Market

The market is still trading lower as selling pressure continued among the frontline indices. However, the broader market is trading higher as some smart buying witnessed in the Mid Cap and Small Cap stocks. The strong selling is seen in the Capital Goods, Bank and Power stocks. However, significant buying is seen in the IT, Metal and FMCG stocks.

The overall market breadth is positive, as 1326 stocks are advancing while 1140 stocks are declining and the 91 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

The BSE Mid cap is higher by 20.96 points at 7,251.27 and the BSE small Cap advanced by 37.87 points to trade at 8,787.11.

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 17,356.70 down by 16.31 points and Nifty was at 5,140.80 down by 3.85 points.

BSE Metal index surged by 147.42 points to trade at 16,063.23. The major gainers are Tata Steel (2.20%), Sterlite Industries (0.97%), SAIL (0.81%) and Hindalco Industries (0.08%).

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 24.95 points higher at 11,669.46 as Cairn India (5.81%), ABN Offshore (3.91%), RPL (0.65%) and RNRL (0.04%) are trading in green.

BSE IT index grew by 51 points to trade at 4,434.36 as TCS (2.39%), Infosys Technologies (2.33%), HCL Technologies (1.21%) and Satyam Computer (1.01%) are trading in green.

BSE Capital goods index slipped by 177.83 points to 13,776.72. The main losers are Bharat Electrical (3.31%), BHEL (2.31%), ABB (1.37%) and L&T (1.05%).

BSE Power index declined by 24.43 points to trade at 3,291.18 as Power Grid (1.09%), Suzlon Energy (1.03%) and NTPC (1%) are trading in negative.

BSE Health Care index increased by 28.41 points to trade at 4,263.73 as Glenmark Pharma (8.06%), Nicholas Piramal (2.22%), Glaxosmith (1.05%) and Divi’s Lab (2.53%) are trading in positive.

BSE Bankex index is trading lower by 97.51 points at 8,991.19. Losers are AXIX Bank (3.94%), Bank of India (2.79%), Kotak Bank (1.84%) and Bank of Baroda (1.31%).

BSE Auto index slipped by 15.34 points to trade at 4,787.44 as Tata Motors (1.69%), TVS Motor (0.81%), MRF (0.74%) and Maruti Suzuki (0.23%) are trading in negative.
