Mid Session Market

The market is still trading in the deep negative territory as strong selling pressure continued across the board. All the key indices are trading in red. The heavy selling is seen in the IT, Bank, FMCG and Realty stocks. The Mid Cap and Small Cap stocks are also trading lower. The BSE Sensex boils around the 17,100 mark and the NSE Nifty hovering around the 5,100 mark.

The overall market breadth is extremely negative, as 800 stocks are advancing while 1650 stocks are declining and the 48 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

The BSE Mid cap is lower by 76.68 points at 7,124.88 and the BSE small Cap dropped by 81.53 points to trade at 8,645.63.

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 17,061.93 down by 277.37 points and Nifty was at 5,071 down by 64.50 points.

BSE Bankex index is trading lower by 208.70 points at 8,808.21. Losers are Kotak Bank (5.38%), Bank of Baroda (4.30%), Bank of India (3.79%) and ICICI Bank (3.47%).

BSE Capital goods index dropped by 173.67 points to 13,467.95. The main losers are L&T (2.69%), Praj Industries (2.49%), BEML (1.94%) and BHEL (0.78%).

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 107.88 points lower at 16,615.58 as BPCL (2.15%), GAIL India (1.74%), RPL (1.35%) and ONGC (1.32%) are trading in red.

BSE IT index fell by 129.76 points to trade at 4,283.54 as Satyam Computer (3.67%), TCS (3.64%), Infosys Technologies (3.48%) and Wipro (1.97%) are trading in red.
Infosys Technologies BPO arm is aiming to make Gurgaon the hub for its KPO business. The company is setting up a large centre for ‘knowledge services. It will be operational by the end of the current financial year.

BSE Metal index slipped by 84.45 points to trade at 15,729.39. The major losers are SAIL (2.34%), NALCO (1.75%) and Sterlite Industries (1.25%).

BSE Power index declined by 15.03 points to trade at 3,279.61 as GVK Power (2.12%), Reliance Energy (2.49%), Tata Power (1.06%) and NTPC (0.74%) are trading in negative.

BSE Health Care index decreased by 25.42points to trade at 4,212.94 as Glenmark Pharma (2.13%), Cipla (1.56%), Fortis Health care (1.50%) and Divi’s Lab (1.10%) are trading in negative.

BSE Auto index slipped by 45.07 points to trade at 4,741.81 as Ashok Leyland (3.59%), Tata Motors (2.21%), Hero Honda (1.61%) and TVS Motor (1.53%) are trading in negative.
