Mid Session Market - June 10, 2008

The market is still trading lower with a deep cut as strong selling continued in the selective scrips mainly led by the IT, Realty, Bank and Consumer Durables stocks. However, the pharma stocks are still facing the buying momentum. The Asian markets are also trading in deep red. The BSE Sensex has below the 14800 mark and the Nse Nifty is trading around the 4400 mark. The broader market is also trading in negative.

The overall market breadth is negative, as 886 stocks are advancing while 1491 stocks are declining and the 65 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

The BSE Mid cap is lower by 66.60 points at 6,103.73 and the BSE small Cap slipped by 59.51 points to trade at 7,357.03.

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 14,761.15 down by 304.95 points and Nifty was at 4,400.25 down by 100.70 points.

BSE Capital goods index inclined by 56.52 points to 11,692.15. The main gainers are BHEL (2.66%), Praj Industries (1.09%), BEML (0.99%) and L&T (0.27%).

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 10.40 points higher at 9,686.95 as BPCL (0.61%), ABN Offshore (0.32%), Essar Oil (0.59%) and HPCL (0.10%) are trading in green.

BSE Auto grew by 9.81 points to 4,133.45. Leading to its gain are Bharat Forge (1.27%), Maruti Suzuki (0.54%), Ashok Leyland (0.32%).

BSE Realty dropped by 122.16 points to 5,630.06. Leading to its fall are HDIL (8.43%), Unitech (7.98%), DLF (6.43%), India Bull Real (5.69%) and Sobha Developers (5.56%) are trading lower.

BSE Metal index slipped by 105.70 points to trade at 15,283.91. The major losers are NALCO (4.05%), Sterlite Industries (3.24%) and Tata Steel (0.91%).

BSE Power index decreased by 4.05 points to 2,615.23. The main losers are NTPC (2.77%), REL Infra (1.58%), Power Grid (1.57%), and Suzlon Energy (0.97%).

BSE Bankex index is trading lower by 132.05 points at 6,901.27. Losers are Canara Bank (6.76%), HDFC Bank (4.96%), Kotak Bank (3.65%) and SBI (1.14%).

BSE IT index declined by 146.90 points to trade at 4,258.08 as Infosys Technologies (4.89%), HCL Technologies (4.53%), Satyam Computer (4.39%) and TCS (4.39%) are trading in red.
