The market is trading lower as selling pressure continued in the selective scrips. The market didn’t react much to the inflation figure that came out today. Inflation for the week ended May 24 stood at 8.24% as against 8.10% in the earlier week. This is in line with market expectations of 8.25%. However, the Realty, Power and Capital Goods stocks have maintained their opening gains. The broader market is however trading in positive. The BSE Sensex is hovering around the 15750 mark and the NSE Nifty is trading below the 4700 mark
The overall market breadth is positive, as 1270 stocks are advancing while 1125 stocks are declining and the 84 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
The BSE Mid cap is higher by 7.13 points at 6,407.42 and the BSE small Cap advanced by 30.36 points to trade at 7,765.96.
At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,751.99 down by 17.73 points and Nifty was at 4,677.45 marginally up by 0.50 points.
BSE Realty increased by 127.83 points to 6,453.88. Leading to its gain are India Bull Real (12.99%), Purvankara (2.41%) while Unitech 11.21%), DLF (1.01%) and HDIL (1.49%) are trading lower.
BSE Metal index advanced by 87.97 points to trade at 15,802.56. The major gainers are Sterlite Industries (3.75%), Sesa Goa (3.06%), Gujarat NRE (2.74%) and Maharastra Seamless (0.18%).
BSE Capital goods index advanced by 99.78 points to 12,211.41. The main gainers are BHEL (1.73%), BEML (1.23%), Punj Lloyd (0.77%) and Siemens (0.20%).
BSE Power index improved by (31.13%) to 2,739.62. The main gainers are Suzlon Energy (5.03%), Tata Power (1.86%), GVK Power (1.50%), and Areva (0.83%).
BSE Bankex index is trading higher by 22.77 points at 7,371.35. Gainers are Yes Bank (1.73%), Bank of India (1.64%), ICICI Bank (0.58%) and HDFC Bank (0.55%).
BSE Auto grew by 7.04 points to 4,229.05. Leading to its gain are Mahindra & Mahindra (3.71%), Tata Motors (0.49%), Ashok Leyland (0.31%) and TVS Motor (0.14%).
BSE IT index inclined by 36.18 points to trade at 4,653.62 as Mphasis (4.26%), HCL Technologies (2.20%), I-Flex (1.81%), Satyam Computer (1.01%) and TCS (0.54%) are trading in green.
BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 24.49 points lower at 10,086.32 as Gail India (2.23%), Essar Oil (1.56%), ONGC (1.28%) and Indian Oil (0.26%) are trading in red.
