The market is trading firm on the back of sustained buying across the sectoral indices. The market opened on a firm note due to easing down of the domestic political worries and the mixed cues from the Asian market also gave a support to the market. From the sectoral front, the Bankex, Metal, PSU and Capital Goods stocks are showing some more buying interest from the investors. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are also trading with a gain of more than 2% each.
The overall market breadth remains strong as 1899 stocks are advancing while 516 stocks are declining and the 58 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
The BSE Mid cap and Small Cap are trading up by 109.93 points and 179.29 points at 5,388.17 and 6,628.96 respectively.
At 12.34 pm, BSE Sensex was at 13,651.4 higher by 197.39 points and Nifty was at 4,071.65 up by 55.65 points.
Gainers from the BSE are Deccan Aviation 21.23%, HMT 12.61%, Nag Cons Com 8.63%, Akruti City 8.35%, Adlabs Films 7.67%.
The Bankex trading up by 186.02 points at 6,006.85. Pushing it are BOI (5.56%), Kotak bank (4.80%), SBI (4.39%), Axis bank (3.76%), BOB (.74%), Yes bank (3.19%).
The Realty index trading higher by 112.33 points at 4,742.68. Gainers are Akruti City 9.54%, Penland 6.30%, Anant Raj industries 3.48%, Sobha Dev 3.63%, DLF 2.56%, Unitech 1.02%.
The metal index surged 315.95 points to trade at 12,353.59 as JSW Steel 6.48%, SH. Precoated 5.46%, Jindal Saw 5.07%, Ispat industries 4.60%, SAIL 2.82%, Nalco 2.30% trading in green.
The Capital Goods index is trading up by 197.85 points at 10,884.40. Scrips that are trading higher are Elecon Eng 6.98%, Siemens 5.91%, Areva 5.75%, Jyoti Structures 5.62%, Thermax 4.58%, Alstom Projects 4.06% and Suzlon Energy 3.95%.
From the oil and gas basket, Gail India 5.92%, RNRL 4.06%, HPCL 3.77%, ONGC 2.99%, Aban Offshore 1.75%, BPCL 1.62% and IOCL 1.16% trading in positive.
From the Auto index, Exide inds 8.09%, Apollo tyres 5.25%, MRF 3.27%, TVS Motor 3.25%, Escorts 2.41%, Bosch 1.52% trading in green
