Mid Session Market - July 3, 2008

The market has crushed badly and is trading in deep red as strong selling in scrips continued across the board. The Realty, Metal, Power and Bank stocks are facing the huge selling pressure. The BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap stocks are also trading with a deep cut. The BSE Sensex slipped below the 13000 mark and the NSE Nifty hammered below the 3900 mark.

The overall market breadth is negative 575 stocks are advancing while 1737 stocks are declining and the 54 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

The BSE Mid cap is lower by 189.44 points at 5,121.86 and the BSE small Cap is down by 175.88 points to trade at 6,330.92.

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 12,976.31 down by 688.31 points and Nifty was at 3,895.35 down by 200 points.

BSE Metal index dropped by 980.21 points to trade at 12,258.81. The major losers are Tata Steel (9.42%), Sail (8.14%), Sterlite Industries (8.04%) and Hindalco Industries (3.16%).

BSE Realty slipped by 358.62 points to 4,372.57. Leading to its fall are India Bull Real (13.70%), Sobha Developers (10.51%), Omaxe Ltd. (9.88%), Parsavnath (8.08%) are trading lower.

BSE Capital goods index slipped by 436.55 points to 9,881.59. The main losers are Siemens (5.12%), BHEL (4.22%), L&T (3.31%) and ABB (3.18%).

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 313.95 points lower at 8,881.34 as BPCL (7.11%), RPL (3.98%), Gail India (3.27%) and ONGC (2.95%) are trading in negative.

BSE Bankex index is trading lower by 293.35 points at 5,626.28. Losers are ICICI Bank (8.70%), HDFC Bank (4.53%), PNB (4.29%) and SBI (1.24%).

BSE IT index declined by 141.49 points to trade at 4,036.26 as TCS (4.79%), HCL Technologies (4.35%), Financial Technologies (4.62%), Infosys tEchnologies (3.66%) are trading in red.

BSE Health Care down by 47.95 points at 4,119.36. The top losers are Divi’s Lab (4.11%), Biocon (2.77%), Ranbaxy Lab. (2.52%) and Dr. Reddy (1.89%).

BSE Power index decreased by 133.06 points to 2,147.15. The main losers are Tata Power (10.42%), Suzlon Energy (6.95%), NTPC (4.09%), Power Grid (2.69%).
