Mid Session Market - Aug 06 , 2008

The markets has maintained its opening gains and is trading higher as strong buying is seen across the board with the exception of Metal index. The strong buying support is seen in the Banking, Realty, Capital Goods, Auto and Oil & Gas stocks. The BSE Sensex is now trading above the 15300 mark and the NSE Nifty is hovering around the 4600 mark. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are also trading higher.

The overall market breadth is positive as 1690 stocks are advancing while 785 stocks are declining and the 87 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

The BSE Mid cap is higher by 100.40 points at 5,944.29 and the BSE small Cap is up by 54.18 points to trade at 7,246.98.

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,292.19 up by 331.12 points and the NSE Nifty was at 4,578.35 up by 75.50 points.

BSE Capital goods index surged by 377.01 points to 12,656.78. The main gainers are BHEL (4.92%), L&T (3.22%), ABB (2.74%) and Praj Industries (2.50%).

BSE Bankex index is trading higher by 315.87 points at 7,533.85. Gainers are HDFC Bank (7.34%), ICICI Bank (5.47%), SBI (1.34%) and PNB (1.32%).

BSE Realty index improved by 188.61 points to 5,763.68. The major gainers are India Bull Real (6.44%), Sobha Developers (5.15%), Mahindra Life (3.27%) and Unitech (2.45%).

BSE Auto index increased by 108.21 points to 3,927.38. The top gainers are Maruti Suzuki (6.84%), Tata Motors (5.19%), Mahindra & Mahindra (2.65%).

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 193.05 points higher at 10,352.16 as ONGC (1.77%), Gail India (1.32%), Cairn India (1.31%) and BPCL (1.01%) are trading in positive.

BSE Metal index dropped by 92.77 points at 13,172.06 as Nalco (1.80%), Ispat Industries (1.20%), Tata Steel (0.90%) and Hindustan Zinc. (0.77%) are trading in red.

BSE Power index increased by 38.11 points to 2,758.72. Gainers are Suzlon Energy (3.43%), Reliance Infra. (1.33%), GVK Power (0.75%) and NTPC (0.69%).

BSE IT index inclined by 50.60 points to trade at 3,928.90 as Satyam Computer (2.54%), TCS (2.21%), Infosys Technologies (1.81%) and Wipro (1.51%) trading in positive.
