The markets have maintained its opening gains and are trading strongly as huge buying interest continued across the board mainly led by the Power, Capital Goods, Banking, Realty and Oil & Gas stocks. The stocks today got a boost from the news of approval by the 45-nation Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) of US plans to engage India in nuclear trade.
The BSE Sensex is now trading above the 1500 level and with a gain of more than 4% and the NSE Nifty is trading above the 4500 mark with a gain of nearly 4%. The BSE Mid Cap and the BSE Small Cap are also trading with a gain of more than 1% each.
The overall market breadth remains positive as 1776 stocks are advancing while 646 stocks are declining and the 83 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
The BSE Mid cap is higher by 110.50 points at 5,864.22 and the BSE small Cap advanced by 117.73 points to trade at 7,022.95.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 254.17 points higher at 9,906.85 as ONGC (3.01%), Cairn India (2.71%), GAIL India (2.32%) and RPL (1.39%) are trading in positive.
BSE Metal index advanced by 255.04 points at 12,040.81 as NALCO (4.11%), Sterlite Industries (3.36%), SAIL (3.35%) and Tata Steel (1.83%) are trading in green.
