The markets are now off the day’s high but are still trading higher with significant gains as buying support continued across the board. The Banking, Realty, Capital Goods, Power, Metal and Oil & Gas stocks are on the buyers ride today.
The BSE Sensex is now hovering above the 10,100 mark and the NSE Nifty is trading around 3,000 mark. The BSE Mid Cap and the BSE Small Cap stocks are also trading with a gap of more than 4% each.
The overall market breadth is positive as 1830 stocks are advancing while 527 stocks are declining and the 57 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
On the global market front, the Asian Markets are trading mostly higher as Hang Seng index is trading higher by 3.51% and the Straight Times Index up by 4.27%. While Shanghai Composite is trading lower by 0.45%) at 7,858 on the back of report that suggested Chinese manufacturing growth, may be contracting.
Mahindra & Mahindra reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack as it was trading higher by (19.17%) at Rs.295.55 while Satyam Computer reported the top loser down by (1.96%) at Rs.282.20.
The BSE Mid cap is higher by 120.58 points at 3,320.60 and the BSE small Cap advanced by 153.97 points to trade at 3,919.08
At 12.31 pm, BSE Sensex was at 10,175.16 up by 387.10 points and the NSE Nifty was at 2,985.40 up by 99.80 points.
BSE Metal index surged by 200.60 points at 5,568.20 as Gujarat NRE (10%), Hindalco Industries (8.64%), Tata Steel (6.02%), Jindal Saw (5.26%) and Ispat Industries (5.11%) are trading in green.
BSE Bankex index is trading higher by 363.58 points at 5,374.82. Gainers are Kotak Bank (9.60%), ICICI Bank (9.69%), IDBI Bank (6.86%), AXIS Bank (6.36%) and PNB (6.53%).
BSE Oil & Gas index is trading 262.49 points higher at 6,458.11 as Aban Offshore (10.11%), Essar Oil (9.45%), Gail India (5.44%) and HPCL (4.82%) are trading in positive.
BSE Capital goods index advanced by 410.30 points to 7,427.91. The main gainers are Punj Lloyd (8.44%), Siemens (7.22%), ABB (6.41%), L&T (7.19%) and Havells India (7.19%).
BSE IT index inclined by 58.67 points to trade at 2,920.61 as Mphasis (3.47%), TCS (1.78%), Satyam Computer (1.21%) and Tech Mahindra (1.11%) are trading in positive.
BSE Power index was trading 80.59 points higher at 1,663.96. The main gainers are Torent Power (6.60%),.GVK Power (8.64%), Reliance Power (4.12%) and NTPC (3.95%).
BSE Realty index improved by 138.05 points to 2,116.29. The major gainers are Penland (13.94%), Ansal Infra (8.73%), DLF (8.38%) and Omaxe (5.88%).
BSE Auto inclined by 73.80 points to 2,759.42. Leading to its gain are Tata Motors (10.59%), Ashok Leyland (7.77%) and Maruti Suzuki (6.71%).
