Mid Day Market Commentary

Market was trading in negative territory due to selling pressures on the selective stocks. Overall market breadth was weak as 1162 stocks declined and 1157 stocks advanced on BSE.

At 12.36 pm, BSE Sensex was at 13,128.12 down by 55.12 points and Nifty was at 3841.60 down by 21 points whereas BSE Mid cap and Small cap was up by 16.69 points and 19.40 points respectively.

BSE capital goods index declined 43.15 points to trade at 9299.23 as L&T (1.02%), BHEL (0.83%) and ABB (0.74%) trading lower while Seimens (0.31%) trading higher.

BSE IT index grew 46.59 points to trade at 4854.67 as Infosys (2.29%), HCL (1.2%), TCS (0.72%) and Satyam (0.42%) trading in green while Wipro (0.86%) trading in red.

BSE auto index fell 3.01 points to trade at 4697.33 as Maruti (1.94%), Hero Honda (1.42%), Tata Motors (1.27%) and M&M (1.1%) trading lower while Bajaj Auto (3.25%) trading higher.

BSE Banks index slipped 70.01 points to trade at 6482.91; HDFC Bank (2.22%), OBC (1.81%), SBI (1.08%), PNB (0.95%) and ICICI Bank 90.72%) trading in red.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 43.13 points down at 6497.58 as ONGC (2.16%), HPCL (0.71%), BPCL (0.49%) and IPCL (0.18%) were trading down.

BSE FMCG index declined 11.87 points to trade at 1799.71 as ITC (0.87%) and HLL (0.1%) trading in negative while Dabur was trading in positive.

BSE Metal index decreased 30.94 points to 9299.93 as NALCO (1.47%), Hindalco (0.74%), Tata Steel (0.68%) and SAIL (0.57%) were trading in red.

BSE Health Care index inclined by 3.96 points to trade at 3681.34 as Dr. Reddy increased by 0.35% whereas Cipla decreased by 1.12% followed by Ranbaxy and Glaxo 0.84% and 0.21% respectively.
