Market was trading higher and moving in northward direction on the back of huge buying interest in the selective stocks. Overall market breadth was strong as 1589 stocks advanced while 701 stocks declined on BSE.
At 12.32 pm, BSE Sensex was at 13384.90 up by 271.09 points and Nifty was at 3909.45 up by 79.6 points. BSE Mid cap inclined by 62.18 points to trade at 5574.58 and BSE small cap by 86.13 points to trade at 6768.66.
BSE IT index grew 190.90 points to trade at 5070.49 as Satyam (5.69%), HCL (5.34%), Wipro (4.34%), TCS (3.75%) and Infosys (3.04%) trading in green.
BSE Metal index increased 172.77 points to 9294.78 as SAIL 2.24%, Tata Steel 2.21% and Hindalco 0.18% were trading in green.
BSE capital goods index inclined 171.00 points to trade at 9442.18 as L&T (2.67%), Siemens (1.4%), ABB (1.34%) and BHEL (1.14%) trading higher.
BSE Banks index inclined 163.65 points to trade at 6633.97; PNB (4.28%), SBI (4.26%), ICICI Bank (3.36%) and HDFC Bank (2.78%) trading in green.
BSE auto index rose 102.22 points to trade at 4782.77 as Bajaj Auto (3.2%), M&M (2.99%), Maruti (2.09%) and Hero Honda (1.19%) trading higher.
BSE Oil & gas index was trading 75.03 points up at 6548.02 as ONGC up (2.02%) followed by IPCL (1.88%) and RPL (0.34%) while HPCL down (0.08%).
BSE Health Care index inclined by 51.78 points to trade at 3710.96 as Dr. Reddy (1.63%), GSK (1.16%), Sun pharma (1.04%), Ranbaxy (0.96%) and Cipla (0.69%) were trading higher.
BSE FMCG index grew 19.99 points to trade at 1808.36 as ITC grew by 1.5% followed by HLL and Dabur with an increase of 0.58% and 0.27% respectively.
