Mid Day Market Commentary

Market was trading in negative territory. Overall market breadth was weak as 1349 stocks declined while 960 stocks advanced and 63 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 13642.61 down by 52.97 points and Nifty was at 3997.95 down by 15.4 points. BSE Mid cap also declined by 10.88 points to trade at 5655.07 and BSE small cap by 8.80 points to trade at 6875.33.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 43.81points up at 6813.25 as BPCL surged by 2.87% followed by HPCL (2.36%), Reliance petroleum (2.08%) and IPCL (0.74%) trading in green.

BSE capital goods index grew 8.97 points to trade at 9754.79 as ABB (0.77%), BHEL (0.66%), L&T (0.42%) and Siemens (0.33%) were trading higher.

BSE IT index declined 133.47 points to trade at 5016.81 as Satyam (4.05%), TCS (2.85%), Infosys (2.46%), HCL (2.2%) and Wipro (2.07%) are trading in red.

BSE Banks index fell 23.00 points to trade at 6699.81; SBI (0.99%), PNB (0.7%) and ICICI Bank (0.53%) were trading in negative territory while HDFC Bank (0.42%) trading in positive territory.

BSE Health Care index declined by 20.22 points to trade at 3705.35 as Cipla (1.08%), Sun pharma (0.42%) and Dr.Reddy''s lab (0.22%) trading in red where as GSK trading higher by 1.47%.

BSE auto index down 6.40 points to trade at 4882.41 as M&M (1.7%), Maruti (0.8%) and Tata Motors (0.03%) were trading lower whereas Bajaj Auto (1.45%) and Hero Honda (0.03%) trading higher.

BSE Metal index decreased 4.66 points to 9455.82 as SAIL (1.64%) and Tata Steel (0.05%) were trading in red while NALCO (1.28%) and Hindalco (0.17%) were trading in green.

BSE FMCG index slipped 4.83 points to trade at 1815.65 as ITC declined by 0.5% whereas in the same line HLL up by 0.56% and Dabur gained by 2.03%.
