Mid Day Market Commentary

The market managed to trade in green. The BSE mid cap is trading higher by 8.71 points to 5853.07 while the BSE small cap is trading lower by 12.55 points to 7007.56. Overall the market breadth is negative.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 13890.85 up by 11.60 points and Nifty was at 4116.80 up by 5.65 points. About 1131 stocks advanced while 1196 stocks declined and 88 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

BSE Metal index inclined 108.22 points to 10054.49 as SAIL (2.01%), NALCO (1.87%), Tata Steel (1.67%) and Hindalco (1.35%) are trading higher.

BSE capital goods index surged 32.40 points to trade at 9958.18 as Siemens (1.12%) and L&T (0.44%) are trading in green.

BSE Banks index advanced 20.46 points to trade at 6841.13 as PNB (1.29%) and ICICI Bank (0.85%) are trading higher whereas HDFC Bank is trading down by (0.79%).

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 5.34 points up at 7326.74 as BPCL (0.39%) and IPCL (0.3%) are trading higher while GAIL (1.06%), HPCL (0.43%), RPL (0.31%) and ONGC (0.23%) are trading lower.

BSE IT index fell 33.59 points to trade at 4979.88 as Infosys (1.29%), HCL (0.67%) and TCS (0.15%) are trading lower while Wipro trading higher by (0.16%).

BSE FMCG index dropped 2.43 points to trade at 1809.97 as ITC (0.37%) and HLL (0.23%) are trading in red whereas Dabur (1.191%) is trading in green.

BSE auto index fell 2.39 points to trade at 5036.67 as Hero Honda (1.86%), M&M (0.25%) and Bajaj Auto (0.15%) are trading in red whereas Maruti (0.75%) and Tata Motors (0.44%) are trading in green.

BSE Health Care index slipped by 1.23 points to trade at 3736.52 as GSK (0.82%) and Dr. Reddy (0.45%) are trading lower while Ranbaxy (0.8%) and Sun Pharma (0.25%) are trading higher
