Mid Day market Commentary

The market now slips into red, as some profit booking was seen in the selective scrips. But buying was spread over the mid cap and small cap indices. The overall market breadth is positive as about 1277 stocks advanced while 1137 stocks declined and 81 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 13925.17 down by 40.69 points and Nifty was at 4114.85 down by 19.45 points. The BSE mid cap and small cap are trading higher by 18.55 points and 20.49 points to 5959.64 and 7100.32 respectively.

BSE Banks index grew 69.78 points to trade at 7144.01 as PNB (1.9%), ICICI Bank (1.32%), SBI (0.67%) and HDFC Bank (0.35%) are trading higher.

BSE Metal index grew 13.27 points to trade at 10275.30 as SAIL (0.73%) and Tata Steel (0.34%) are trading higher while NALCO (0.91%) and Hindalco (0.14%) are trading lower.

BSE Health Care index inclined 24.10 points to trade at 3734.96 as Sun Pharma (1.63%), Ranbaxy (1.11%) and Dr. Reddy (0.52%) are trading in positive.

BSE FMCG index inclined 2.67 points to trade at 1815.27 as Dabur (0.61%) and HLL (0.18%) are trading in green whereas ITC (0.06%) is trading in red.

BSE IT index dropped 50.15 points to trade at 4889.25 as Satyam (1.86%), TCS (1.8%), Wipro (1.31%), Infosys (1.26%) and HCL (0.86%) are trading in red.

BSE Capital goods index was trading 26.17 points down at Rs.9956.36 as ABB (0.35%), Siemens (0.25%) and L&T (0.19%) are trading in red while BHEL (2.16%) is trading in green.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 14.60 points down at 7340.07 as ONGC (0.48%) and IPCL (0.05%) are trading in red while HPCL (1.91%) and BPCL (0.89%) are trading in green.

BSE Auto index slipped 4.99 points to trade at 5016.09 as M&M (1.46%) and Bajaj Auto (0.53%) are trading positive whereas Hero Honda (0.72%) and Tata Motors (0.11%) are trading negative territory.
