Mid Day Market Commentary

The market still maintained its momentum and trading in positive zone. The overall market breadth is strong as about 1597 stocks advanced while 782 stocks declined and 76 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 13998.38 up by 69.05 points and Nifty was at 4134.80 up by 14.5 points. The BSE mid cap and small cap are trading higher by 63.10 points and 102.42 points to 6018.45 and 7205.30 respectively.

BSE Banks index surged 144.52 points to trade at 7335.52 as HDFC Bank (2.86%), SBI (2.85%) and ICICI Bank (1.76%) are trading higher while PNB (0.35%) is trading lower.

BSE Metal index grew 58.11 points to trade at 10312.44 as Hindalco (1.24%), NALCO (1.2%) and SAIL (0.65%) are trading higher while Tata Steel (0.38%) is trading lower.

BSE Capital goods index was trading 47.23 points up at 9981.29 as BHEL (1.79%) and L&T (0.21%) are trading in green while Siemens (0.38%) and ABB (0.25%) are trading in red.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 24.64 points up at 7315.42 as IPCL (0.25%) and ONGC (0.16%) are trading in green while BPCL (2.39%) and HPCL (2.25%) are trading in red.

BSE Auto index grew 25.66 points to trade at 5022.64 as Tata Motors (0.95%), Bajaj Auto (0.69%) and M&M (0.45%)are trading positive whereas Hero Honda (2.6%) and Maruti (0.12%) are trading negative.

BSE IT index dropped 29.47 points to trade at 4843.72 as TCS (1.35%), Infosys (0.87%), Satyam (0.48%) and Wipro (0.28%) are trading in red.

BSE Health Care index inclined 14.54 points to trade at 3728.10 as Sun Pharma (0.93%), Dr. Reddy (0.89%), Cipla (0.36%) are trading positive while GSK (0.29%) is trading negative.

BSE FMCG index inclined 14.32 points to trade at 1832.04 as HLL (1.45%) is trading in green whereas Dabur (0.28%) and ITC (0.09%) are trading in red.
