Mid Day Market Commentary

The market slipped into red as selling continued in the selective scrips. The overall market breadth is negative as 1019 stocks are advancing while 1302 stocks are declining on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14258.9 down by 40.81 points and Nifty was at 4203.80 down by 15.75 points. The BSE mid cap and small cap are trading lower by 4.52 points and 0.59 points to 6084.26 and 7211.97 respectively.

BSE IT index advanced 39.26 points to trade at 4953.68 as HCL (1.23%), TCS (0.96%), Infosys (0.73%) and Satyam (0.65%) are trading in green.

BSE Banks index surged 34.89 points to trade at 7573.14 as HDFC Bank (1.48%) and ICICI Bank (0.86%) are trading higher while SBI(0.84%) and PNB (0.7%) are trading lower.

BSE FMCG index inclined 17.63 points to trade at 1876.31 as Dabur (1.74%) and ITC (1.15%) are trading in green while HLL (0.85%) id trading in red.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 11.29 points up at 7590.99 as IPCL (0.62%) and ONGC (038%) are trading in green whereas HPCL (2.28%0, BPCL (1.83%) and RPL (1.07%) are trading in red.

BSE Health Care index inclined 2.65 points to trade at 3735.03 as Ranbaxy (0.85%) and Cipla (0.5%)are trading positive while Dr. Reddy (1.69%) and Sun Pharma (0.91%) are trading negative.

BSE Metal index slipped 125.51 points to trade at 10239.32 as Tata Steel (1.94%), Hindalco (1.11%), NALCO (0.81%) and SAIL (0.53%) are trading lower.BSE Auto index dropped 71.97 points to trade at 4931.71 as Baja Auto (8.75%) and Tata Motors (0.55%) are trading negative whereas Hero Honda (0.77%) and Maruti Udyog (0.15%) are trading positive.

BSE Capital goods index was trading 9.02 points down at 10126.90 as BHEL (0.59%) and L&T (0.26%) are trading in red while ABB (0.96%) and Siemens (0.39%) are trading in green.
