Mid Day market Commentary

The market is still trading in positive but slipped off from the day''s high as some selling was seen in the selective scrips. The overall market breadth is positive as 1438 stocks are advancing while 927 stocks are declining on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14412.86 up by 109.45 points and Nifty was at 4250.80 up by 36.3 points. The BSE mid cap and small cap are trading higher by 42.19 points and 75.49 points to 6132.14 and 7295.79 respectively.

BSE Metal index advanced 147.07 points to trade at 10389.08 as Tata Steel (2.6%), SAIL (1.51%) and Hindalco (0.54%) are trading higher whereas NALCO (0.76%) is trading lower.

BSE Banks index surged 118.21 points to trade at 7722.18 as HDFC Bank (3.1%), PNB (2%) and SBI (1.47%) are trading higher while ICICI Bank (0.58%) is trading lower.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 116.37 points up at 7719.45 as RPL (2.49%), IPCL (1.96%), ONGC (1.73%) and BPCL (0.55%) are trading in green whereas GAIL (0.33%) and HPCL (0.28%) are trading in red.

BSE Capital goods index was trading 54.17 points up at 10211.61 as BHEL (0.52%), L&T (0.3%) and Siemens (0.28%) are trading in green.

BSE Health Care index inclined 37.66 points to trade at 3771.27 as Sun Pharma (3.58%), GSK (2.01%), Dr. Reddy (0.78%), Ranbaxy (0.71%) and Cipla (0.14%) are trading positive.

BSE FMCG index inclined 29.33 points to trade at 1902.41 as Dabur (2.05%), ITC (1.92%) and HLL (0.34%) are trading in green.

BSE Auto index dropped 11.59 points to trade at 4898.87 as Tata Motors (2.29%), M&M (0.94%) and Bajaj (0.15%) are trading negative.

BSE IT index slipped 42.03 points to trade at 4881.08 as HCL (2.39%), Satyam (1.57%), TCS (1.19%), Infosys (0.9%) and Wipro (0.88%) are trading in red.
