Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is trading flat as investors are consolidating their gains. The overall market breadth is negative as 1123 stocks are advancing while 1215 stocks are declining on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14443.19 down by 10.53 points and Nifty was at 4269.35 down by 8.75 points. The BSE mid cap and small cap are trading higher by 25.25 points and 23.21points to 6170.13 and 7309.98 respectively.

BSE Capital goods index was trading 73.67 points up at 10327.76 as BHEL (2.39%) and Siemens (1.55%) are trading in green while L&T (0.5%) and ABB (0.36%) are trading in red.

BSE Metal index advanced 55.95 points to trade at 10587.10 as Tata Steel (2.03%) and Hindalco (0.92%) are trading higher whereas NALCO (2.26%) and SAIL (0.27%) are trading lower.

BSE Health Care index inclined 1.59 points to trade at 3778.75 as GSK (0.61%) and Ranbaxy (0.29%) are trading in positive whereas Sun Pharma (1.14%), Dr. Reddy (0.46%) and Cipla (0.12%) are trading in negative.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 27.57 points down at 7832.33 as ONGC (1.32%), GAIL (0.51%), IPCL (0.4%) and RPL (0.32%) are trading in red while HPCL (1.55%) and BPCL (1.35%) are trading in green.

BSE Banks index declined 13.04 points to trade at 7646.05 as PNB (0.77%), SBI (0.32%) and ICICI bank (0.06%) are trading lower while HDFC Bank (0.26%) is trading higher.

BSE IT index slipped 11.47 points to trade at 4838.04 as HCL (0.8%), Infosys (0.63%) and Satyam (0.16%) are trading in red

BSE Auto index fell 1.89 points to trade at 4888.33 as Hero Honda (0.14%) is trading in negative while Bajaj (0.95%), Maruti (0.24%) are trading in positive.

BSE FMCG index declined 8.75 points to trade at 1911.60 as Dabur (1.75%) and ITC (1.46%) are trading in red
