Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is trading in negative territory as selling is seen in the selective scrips. The overall market breadth is negative as 995 stocks are advancing while 1321 stocks are declining on BSE and 98 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,270.63 down by 92.63 points and Nifty was at 4,214.85 down by 31.35 points. The BSE mid cap is trading higher by 0.56 points to 6,109.40 while small cap is trading lower by 19.31 points to 7,218.24.

BSE IT index inclined 29.24 points to trade at 4853.37 as HCL (1.77%), Satyam (1.16%), Wipro (0.36%) and Infosys (0.35%) are trading in green.

BSE Auto index grew 15.75 points to trade at 4853.16 as Tata Motors (1.05%) and Bajaj Auto (0.21%) are trading in positive while Hero Honda (1.05%) and Maruti (0.17%) are trading in negative.

BSE FMCG index advanced 6.14 points to trade at 1903.55 as HLL (1.39%) and Dabur (0.26%) are trading in green whereas ITC (0.09%) is trading in red.

BSE Metal index slipped 160.37 points to trade at 10474.58 as Tata Steel (4.18%) and NALCO (0.12%) are trading lower whereas SAIL (0.45%), Hindalco (0.21%) and SAIL (0.27%) are trading higher.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 87.72 points down at 7681.51 as BPCL (2.99%), HPCL (2.92%), ONGC (1.09%) and IPCL (1.03%) are trading in red while RPL (0.27%) is trading in green.

BSE Banks index declined 83.58 points to trade at 7505.93 as PNB (3.45%), HDFC Bank (2.3%), SBI (1.2%) and ICICI Bank (0.11%) are trading lower.

BSE Capital goods index was trading 23.60 points down at 10272.92 as L&T (0.85%) and BHEL (0.12%) are trading in red while Siemens (0.63%) and ABB (0.23%) are trading in green.

BSE Health Care index declined 4.94 points to trade at 3753.46 as Ranbaxy (1.1%), Sun Pharma (0.86%), GSK (0.61%), Cipla (0.53%) and Dr. Reddy (0.31%) are trading in negative.
