Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is trading firm at higher levels. The overall market breadth is strong as 1556 stocks are advancing while 838 stocks are declining on BSE and 84 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,472.57 up by 134.12 points and Nifty was at 4,275.75 up by 15.9 points. The BSE mid cap is trading higher by 85.33 points to 6,228.47 and small cap advanced by 89.69 points to 7,355.61.

BSE Banks index surged 144.29 points to trade at 7611.67 as HDFC Bank (5.22%), SBI Bank (1.84%), ICICI Bank (1.71%) and PNB (1.11%) are trading higher.

BSE Metal index inclined 99.79 points to trade at 10572.59 as Tata Steel (2.01%), Hindalco (0.94%) are trading higher whereas SAIL (0.88%) and NALCO (0.18%) are trading lower.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 62.33 points up at 7747.65 as RPL (2.8%), HPCL (1.9%), GAIL (1.78%), ONGC (0.34%), BPCL (0.19%) and IPCL (0.15%) are trading in green.

BSE Capital goods index surged 70.54 points to 10583.29 as BHEL (1.56%), L&T (1.45%), Siemens (0.77%) and ABB (0.15%) are trading in green.

BSE Auto index grew 61.64 points to trade at 4921.72 as Bajaj Auto (2.18%), M&M (1.8%), Maruti Udyog (1.58%) and Tata Motors (0.45%) are trading in positive.

BSE Health Care index inclined 18.87 points to trade at 3764.89 as Ranbaxy (0.92%), Cipla (0.85%), GSK (0.69%), Dr. Reddy (0.65%) and Sun Pharma (0.18%) are trading in positive.

BSE FMCG index advanced 12.72 points to trade at 1924.81 as Dabur (0.73%) and ITC (0.42%) are trading in green whereas HLL (0.25%) is trading in red.

BSE IT index declined 38.66 points to trade at 4920.70 as HCL (1.2%), Satyam (0.41%), Wipro (0.35%) and Infosys (0.28%) are trading in red.
