Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex closed the session with a positive note as it closed up by 59.44 points at 14,397.89 while Nifty closed at 4,256.55 up by 8.4 points. Of the 2,661 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,472 stocks advanced while 1,091stocks declined. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed higher by 63.56 points and 68.72 points at 6,206.70 and 7,334.64 respectively.

BSE Capital goods index closed higher by 85.63 points at 10598.38 as L&T (2.65%), Siemens (1.01%) and BHEL (0.80%) closed in green while and ABB (0.75%) closed in red.

BSE Metal index closed at 10454.88 down by 17.92 points as SAIL (1.96%) and Hindalco (0.35%) are ended lower while Tata Steel (0.26%) and NALCO (0.24%) are closed lower.

BSE bank index closed higher by 96.70 points at 7564.08 as HDFC bank (5.23%), ICICI bank (1.04%), SBI (0.59%) and PNB (0.53%) closed in positive.

BSE Auto Index closed at 4,917.90 up by 57.82 points as Maruti Udyog (1.87%), Bajaj Auto (1.49%), M&M (1.16%), Tata motors (0.91%) and Hero Honda (0.74%) closed in green.

BSE Health Care Index closed higher by 47.07 points at 3793.09 as Glaxosmithkline (4.12%), Cipla (1.61%), Dr. Reddy lab (0.44%) and Ranbaxy labs (0.13%) closed in green

BSE oil & gas index closed in positive territory at 7,701.07 grew by 15.75 points as Reliance petroleum (2.95%) and GAIL (2.16%) ended in green while BPCL (0.52%), IPCL (0.41%) and HPCL (0.18%) closed in red.

BSE IT index closed at 4,915.25 slipped by 44.11 points as HCL (2.18%), Infosys (1.09%), Satyam (0.60%), Wipro (0.59%) and TCS (0.40%) closed in red.

BSE FMCG index closed higher by 6.41 points at 1,918.50 as Dabur (1.96%) ended in positive while HLL (1.28%) and ITC (0.36%) closed in negative.
