Post Session market Commentary

The BSE Sensex closed the session with a decline of 10.28 points at 13,771.23 while Nifty down by 12.5 points to close at 4,066.80. Of the 2634 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,328 declined while 1,238 advanced. The BSE Mid cap closed higher by 23.97 points at 5,816.12 while Small cap grew by 32.89 points to settle at 6,951.49.

BSE Capital goods index closed at 9,873.68 down by 71.61 points as Siemens (2.78%) BHEL (0.52%) ended in red while ABB (0.22%) ended in green.

BSE Metal index surged by 139.86 points at 10,106.75 as Tata Steel (2.50%), Hindalco (1.52%), SAIL (0.67%) and NALCO (0.12%) closed in green.

BSE bank index up by 12.55 points to close at 6,863.90 as HDFC bank (1.60%) ended in green while ICICI bank (0.79%) and PNB (0.66%) ended in red.

BSE Auto Index closed lower by 9.73 points at 4997.33 as M&M (1.79%), Tata Motors (1.24%) and Maruti Udyog (1.02%) ended in red while Bajaj Auto (1.74%) ended in green.

BSE Health Care Index closed at 3,697.23 down by 3.33 points as GSK (1.52%) ended in green while Ranbaxy (1.84%) closed in red.

BSE oil & gas index closed lower by 74.31 points at 7,156.38 as IPCL (1.31%), GAIL (0.78%) ended in negative territory, while BPCL (1.34%), Reliance petroleum (0.88%) and HPCL (0.65%) closed in green.

BSE IT index closed at 4,878.17 down by 9.45 points as HCL Tech. (0.41%), Infosys (0.41%) and Wipro (0.46%) closed in red while Satyam (0.75)% closed in green.

BSE FMCG index closed higher by 15.39 points at 1,819.39 as ITC (1.71%) closed in green while Dabur (0.58%) and HLL (0.55%) closed in red.
